Has anyone experienced rotors with visible lines? 2025 with 4000 miles.
You can feel the ridges.
Is this covered by 3 year bumper to bumper warranty? Local mechanic said replace brake pad also.

Brake pads and rotors are normally considered to be consumables and therefore not warranty items.

But if you have a good relationship with your dealership they may work with you to ease the pain.

needing new brakes at 4000 miles is ridiculous.
I have 25,200+ miles. Here is what mine look passenger side front and back. The driver side looks the same. 50+ years and 47 vehicle's owned. I never gone through brakes in 4000 miles. And that includes living in the upper Midwest where they use salt on the roads.

Are you parked in an environment that wind blown specific dust is getting put on the rotors, and your 1st gentle braking to end of drive embeds it into the pads?
And then you have to brake frequently.

That's the only thing I'm thinking of.
Or like caravans on specific type of gravel road materials.
In a line so you get the dust kickup on the rotors.
And since in a line, many brake applications as everyone slows or stops.

Something very specific - otherwise ditto to Glen.

Was that 4k coming out of Boston winter, with massive road salt treatment, and frequent splash up of melted water?

My 2024 Ecoboost with 49,000 miles look just like @Glen Baker LLC .

I do have a little shimmy in the steering wheel. But I attribute that to the Mechanic at FORD with Greasy fingers when he replaced the front CV Axels under warranty. Ill live with it until I need to replace the pads and rotors.

Totally agree, there is something wrong with your brakes. Or Again are you driving down gravel roads?

Needing brakes at 4,000 miles is insanely ridiculous. Nothing normal about it.

Perhaps the pads themselves had defects, or they became imbedded with debris or developed hard spots from overheating to cause the rotor damage.
Scoring like that is not at all typical at the mileage noted.

Although the brakes are wear items, that wear is highly abnormal in 4K miles.
Both the pads and rotors need replacement together.

I'd talk to the service department at the dealer first to see what they would do.

That doesn't look right. Only 4,000 miles, and your rotors look like you have diamonds embedded in your brake pads. I agree with Glen Baker LLC.

Even gravel roads wouldn't do that.

No visible lines but I already replaced the front pads because they would not stop screeching every time I stopped. I diassembled and greased all the slides and still nothing. Ceramic replacement pads resolved my issue - at 3200 miles.
