Is something wrong with this brake rotor?

The second picture is the only one that looks good my friend. (ignore the surface rust)
The other rotors show obvious signs of wear and I suspect that your brake pads are down to the rivets.
Please have a mechanic look at it, my friend.

Why would you say that his rotors show obvious signs of wear and the brake pads are down to the rivets?

To me, it looks like a 2025 that was purchased a week ago and has just a few hundred miles on it.

Not a manufacturing defect.
Not covered under warranty.
Not necessary to do anything at all.

Even if the dealer said you need to replace the rotor, that would be just so they can squeeze you for profit. It’s going to function just fine and last normally.

Take the wheel off and look for the rock. It may or may not still be in there. If it is, gently coax it out with a plastic putty knife.

The mark will go away in a few hundred miles.

I posted a photo of my 2025 XLT with 2300 miles, same circle on the driver side, front rotor. Purchased new. I didn't want to sit at hte dealer for hours when they tell me its ok, normal.

I had a squirrel stash a walnut in a rotor, it made all kinds of noises.

IIRC I had that same problem one time with a Ranger I had!!

What makes you think someone resurfaced the rotors? I’m not seeing anything in these images that would indicate resurfacing.

Picture 3 looks like a really bad and deep rotor turning job, or it could be that the pads are worn down to the backing plate.

Did you try braking hard while in Neutral to polish your rotors?

How did they look after braking hard in neutral? I say brake on the hard side to ensure you get pressure on all four.

The odds of any "rotor turning" involved here are between slim and none.

A) this vehicle is fairly new

B) Modern vehicles, especially low cost entry vehicles do not come with enough meat on the bone to allow turning

C) Maverick rotors are probably disposable, non-repairable components.

Auto manufacturers do everything they can to reduce the weight of the vehicle to increase the mpg.
It makes sense that the rotors are one time use item.

Fronts are hollow (vented).
Fronts New: 1.063" Discard at 0.984"
Fronts New: 27mm Discard at 25mm

Rears are solid.
Rears New: 0.433" Discard at 0.354"
Rears New: 11mm Discard at 9mm

Goes on to say:

"Off vehicle bench turning is not allowed. On vehicle turning is allowed using Ford specified tool and procedure."

Based on Fuego’s previous posts, this vehicle was purchased new, 7 days ago.

Why take it to your dealer. Do you think it is a manufacturing defect and hence a warranty claim. Good luck with that.

Never updated. It appears there might’ve been something that got caught and then eventually came out. Basically left the mark. No prob with braking just visual. Dealer said they could re surface but it’s going to make it thin for no reason. So left it as is.
