I find the steering wiggle very annoying on a long trip. I drove trucks for a living from time to time and ALWAYS have both hands on the wheel. But Interstates inevitably have long stretches of straight roadway and the alarm is annoying. You have to wiggle frequently. Driving the Maverick is like driving an old truck which did require a little tug now and then.
The lane assist feature also feels quite nervous when driving on grooved concrete highways, especially in slow sweeping curves. The truck never does anything radically stupid while steering (unlike my Tesla M3 with Full Self Driving which is really unpredictable and downright scary in certain situations) but it makes you feel a little uneasy even with hands on the wheel.
Driving an Audi V8 in Germany I found that over 220 kmh, the car felt a little floaty and unsure of its tracking. Once you got down below 220, it was ok again. That uncertainty is also similar to my Lariat on grooved pavement in a curve.

If you are driving at highway speeds and feel that you need the lane assist feature on, then you're likely fatigued enough to need both hands firmly on the steering wheel.

I am asking some of more tech savvy with FORscan to see if there is a way to disable the steering wheel nag to keep your hands on the wheel while using lane centering. I know the Comma OpenPilot uses a man in the middle scenario to keep the notice from coming up but, I would really like to disable this natively
I like the feature but often I have my hands on the wheel paying attention with the feature activated and still get yelled at. I end up jerking the wheel slightly all the time to keep it happy. Can’t it just let me stay aware and let it steer if no correction is needed?

Why not just turn it off using the button on the left side of the steering wheel?

Why on God's green earth would you want to do this? If driving is so annoying to you I suggest that you allow someone else to drive or take Uber or a bus.

I believe this guy used a 1 lb. Flexible weight.
So, what happens if you need to react to an road emergency? You've just increased your reaction time not only physically, but mentally as well because you're thinking, "Hey, all's good. I'm perfectly safe", until you're not. This guy should be cited for making our highways more dangerous.

If you take a look at the comments on his YouTube website, you'll find there are dozens of others who think this is a good idea and can't wait to try it. God help us.

How about increasing the area on the steering wheel to include more comfortable spots many people use.

I’ve yet to find reasonably comfortable hand positions (which allow full control) that meet the detected hands on sensors.
the reason you can't find it is that there are no grip or contact sensors.

it is checking for steering input and resistance to automated steering. that's why a 1 pound weight attached kinda works, and others are talking about wiggling the steering wheel. it's annoying but in crosswinds it's still a very valuable feature to me, and it reduces driving fatigue significantly.

It's already being done - autonomous cars are here. Go take a hands free drive in Waymo in Phoenix or Los Angeles. What about SuperCruise or BlueCruise? Both hands free driving on highways.

Too be honest the comments are harsh and frankly pretty stupid without context of what I am working on -

LOL you are the one who asked to do it natively. Strongly implying that you want to do something dangerous for your own convenience.

Then you point out semi-autonomous systems like BlueCruise or Comma. The obvious issue being, that you don't have BlueCruise or Comma. (Why would you ask to do it natively if you did have Comma installed and it was already being suppressed?)

Just put the weight on and be ready for a thrill ride when the truck swerves to follow an off-ramp or turning lane that isn't properly marked.

Main reason I just keep lane centering off.

Came here to say this ^^

The steering wheel isn't capacitive - the sensor detects torque on the wheel, even if very light, to detect your hands on the wheel. Put your hands where you want, just make sure you're giving slight input.

And to the second point about driving in crosswinds 100%! The system reacts quicker and more accurately (and with zero effort) compared to constant manual fighting with the wheel.

Ford employs GPS and navigational data on 130,000 miles of highways in North America - 97% of controlled-access highways in the United States and Canada - that is communicated to the Ford BlueCruise system. These stretches of highway are called Blue Zones.

OP, sorry if you're offended but the mighty Mav does not have that capability, hell it barely lane centers, not even smart enough to handle off ramps and changes from 4 lanes to two lanes. It can't shift lanes for passing, or make turns at intersections. The Mav 360 lane centering system is intended to help keep you out of the ditch, out of the car in front ass and the tugs on the wheel alert you changing lane conditions.
Could you defeat the steering wheel detection, maybe but that does not magically create BlueCruise. Some of the comments are harsh because it is a stupid idea, an idea that could devastate your family financially and land you in prison if not in the morgue. I could no more advocate for this than would I give a 13 year old a muscle car or an AR and tell him to go out and have some fun without oversight, equally dangerous. The Mav system is an adolescent, Forscan won't fix that.
