Recommendations for more aggressive tires than stock?

245 65r17 is your best bet!
No rubbing, no issues whatsoever

Firestone destination AT2s in 235/65 r17. Great all around tire! I put them on last spring. Only a few pounds more than stock and maybe just a 1 or 2 mpg hit.

You can go up to 245/65/17 without rubbing although it will impact MPG and the accuracy of your speedometer/odometer. (Probably less impact on the EcoBoost than the Hybrid.)

I'm going to wear out the Continentals before I buy new tires. I'm leaning toward possibly 235/65/17 because I wouldn't mind something a little wider but don't want to hurt my MPG too badly.

I have bought these tires about a year ago, I now have about 7000 miles on them, on paved roads gravel, some sand and some rock (no snow in Utah this winter) and I very happy with them.
They are quiet, good looking, good road handling and good mileage.

I have 245/65R17 BF Goodrich KO2s with no issues in 15K miles. I would have gone with the KO3s but they weren't available yet. Speedo is off like 3mph at 80. I don't really track MPG but in a foot of snow there are no issues!

I got Cooper Discoverer Road and Trail AT, 235/65R17 because living back a long dirt lane plus do a lot of riding through the mountains. This was after the Continental Pro Trac that didn’t even have 18,000 miles on the, left me with a complete flat in the mountains. It was caused by a rock. The Cooper tires do really well in snow. I lost about a mile and half on the gas mileage.

235/65/17 is nice. I wanted 245's, but got these for almost $200 less. mpg loss was marginal for me, maybe 1 mpg.

I was thinking about buying 245, a slightly different design, but 235 is wide enough

I used the wheels to 18" and went with 255/60 18 nitto's 30".I have a leveling kit and probably could have gone with 31's

I didn't want to go to the 245's & muck up my speedo or mileage too much, so went with the falken wilpeak trail in 235/60R18 (part 28712816).

initially, I was going to stick with 17's, but couldn't find any wheels that I really cared for: started looking at 18's & there were quite a few that caught my eye

That’s what I did on my 2021 Bronco Sport base model with the 1.5 Ltr turbo engine.
Went to 235 wide Yokohama Geolandar G015’s
Felt way better on all points of interest.
Had to drop one psi to get even wear.
On that little engine I dropped almost one mpg, no more. The tires weighed two pounds more each than my factory’s on the BS.
I think 3 pounds more than my Primacy’s.

Very quiet tires, very important to me.
I like my Pink Floyd on my B&O sound system. :’P

I’ll be doing that same tire on my 2024 AWD Lariat Ecoboost.
With my more powerful engine I expect little to no loss of gas mileage.

I put AT’s on my 2004 Escape,
Faulkin Rubitreks. Great gravel/dirt road traction, they make a mess in mud but work admirably.
They were quiet for the first few thousand miles. Now they roar like crazy.
So freakin loud we have to talk louder to each other. But my old beater does not have good sound proofing.
I’d not want those on my Lariat. They would destroy my super quiet cabin environment.

FWIW my stock Michelin Primacy’s are at 13,500 miles and still doing just fine.
Oddly and noted by others, they are at 7/32 tread and holding. They measured at 7/32 back at 7,000 miles. Still, I want better hydroplaning resistance. The Yoko’s were great in that parameter.
