I respect everyone's opinion but I got the front bracket because I wanted a front plate (not the point). I got the OE Front Bracket from the Dealer and installed it. Install was simple and it looks fine. No issues with air flow. It looks right.

Anyone happen to know - if you opt to mount your front plate off to the side like some pictured, is it beneficial to have it on the passenger or driver side? and why? The rear plate is to the passenger side, so I'm leaning toward the passenger side with the front as well, but I'm not sure if theres a side that would lessen the hassle of getting pulled over for something so stupid. Cops in my area have nothing better to do sometimes 🤷‍♂️
FYI, The plate above using the universal plug can be installed on either side. It has the same hole on both sides. Good luck.

I live in Illinois which also has a 2-license plate requirement. I do not intend to put the front plate on but do carry it under the back seat just in case. In my small town of Fox River Grove I've been driving my Mav since late March and had plenty of FRG's finest see my front end w/o the plate and have never been stopped. BTW, we have many Tesla's in our area and I've never seen one with a front plate. If they did put one on it would certainly look painfully awful.

That’s a humorous take, as if a front plate on a Tesla would make an already painfully awful design more so.

Tesla’s IMO are this generations version of the Citroen, the original ‘painfully aweful’ design!

I ordered the platypus bracket on the recommendation of another member here, and it looks like a very nice part. I would expect so for $100. I just hope the dealership does not drill holes before I can install it. My Maverick should arrive by next week, and I told the sales associate that I had this bracket and didn’t want holes drilled. He said he would try to prevent holes being drilled for the factory license plate bracket when it is delivered and repeated this when I stressed that I bought an expensive no drill bracket. Not very reassuring.

Just wondering if I could easily fabricate a simple arm bracket using one of the winching holes on my hybrid. I'm in Texas which requires a front plate but I didn't let the dealer install it and have been driving around like an "outlaw". Don't really want a grill-attached front plate, and I don't want to drill holes in the front bumper.

I’m in Texas too, but no Maverick yet (only 8 months of waiting 😉). My Genesis coupe has a tow hook post connection on the right front part of my bumper that I have been able to attach my front plate to, and it looks as OK as a front plate can look 😉. Maybe someday I’ll have to figure that issue out for my phantom Mav 😏

My suggestion is to simply call the Ford dealer you bought it from and let them know you need a front license plate kit for your state. The one Supplied with the Maverick is a simple black plastic frame that attaches to the front with two screws I believe.

I’ve had it since last year. Works great, super secure fit and well built. It’s a bit of a tight fit to reach in and get everything tightened down but I’ve had no issues with it.

Gorgeous truck. Love that blackout emblem. Exactly the answer I'd hoped for. Going to order one today.

My last Ford was a Mustang GT and back then the no-drill aftermarket brackets were absolute trash. Tried running with no front plate and got stopped by troopers twice in one day - never again.

Any issues with overheating or restricted airflow?

Nope. Currently getting around 25-26ish mpg which has actually gone up since I had the fuel tank replaced.

I just completed mine following your first post and using a piece of metal from Lowes and a 1" universal plug from AutoZone, along with the factory plate bracket. Still have to test it out. Thanks for the idea.

Added some 3M take so it won't flap with strong winds. Went for a 45 min drive at 75 mph, accidentally entered a brush car wash, it was too late for me to back out. The pate/bracket stayed perfectly in place. I would say that was a good test! :) See last pic.

Yes, I did make a bracket out of the leftover rail I had after installing the DIY tie down rails in the bad, and a cheap license plate bracket. Right into the winching hole on the passenger side. It does *NOT* stick down as low as the little front air dam in front of the wheel, so, seems acceptable to me. The bracket I bought on Amazon has the nuts on the side that I wanted to mount to, so I just use some fender washers and spread the load on the back of the license plate so I could mount the bracket backwards (ie; on the nut side)

Could you give us an update and let us know if your front license plate bracket has stood the test of time? Need to get one installed and I’d like to go this route if it has worked well for you..
