You could not drive where I live ( Utah) with a license pate hanging so low. It would last probably no more than 1/2 mile

I got one with the truck. It was a free option so I decided to get it and I had the dealer install it (no charge) when the truck came in. It has the license plate of my favorite NHL team of 44 years... The Los Angeles Kings!!!

Which is easy to see in my avatar. Or thumbnail, if that's what they are. Or the little box with a picture. But if you look at it just a warning that my doodle is watching you! Goldendoodle that is.

I guess I don't understand what is the problem with drilling holes in the bumper? If your state requires a front plate once you mount the plate it is there forever or at least until you sell the car and you never see the holes again.

I agree. But I guess it bothers others. For me it's two little holes that you'll never see, as like you said the plate holder stays there. But to each his own.

Right, and it was only til recently that front bumpers came undrilled. We survived back then....

I just don't like the bracket on the front of the truck It's hard to not get wax on when you are waxing your truck even though you try to be careful they're still times where it'll happen. Plus I think the truck looks a lot cleaner without the bracket on the front. Also the roads here in Illinois are shit! But just got to be careful and it's not really that low The one on the Mustang is a lot lower and I still don't have any problems

Beware of any license plate brackets that mount in either the upper or lower grill areas on the 25 Lariat Mavericks. They will block sensors. I had used an Amazon mount on the lower grill and started receiving lots of anti-collision sensor warnings.

I have no issues with my license plate bracket on my Maverick. It does not block the sensor at all everything works just fine

WA requires a front plate, albeit I've been running my Miata w/o one for 10+ years....

Gave the factory plate mount and fasteners back to the dealer. Bought the cheapest <$9 mount on Amazon and attached it UNDER the front bumper attached to the grill. It isn't going anywhere using the steel 'zipties' that came with the kit. If you don't have to screw in to the painted bumper, then don't do it. In a future life, I'll move to a front-plate-free state and retire blissfully with whole paint.

Illinois requires a front plate but I just don't like the way the bracket looks on the bumper because when you're waxing everything it gets in the way but to each his own. Plus when I go to shows I can pull the plate off and have a nice clean look

When did they start that? I don't think I've ever seen a front Illinois plate.

Edit: I looked it up. I guess all my Illinois friends are scofflaws lol.
