First a bit of info to set a baseline. Our '22 XLT with EB has less than 12,000 miles. It sits for extended periods without starting quite often. Remote starting with the Ford app has worked unless the app needed an update. No real problems until January of '26. The temps in northeast Ohio have been as low as -10 at night. Lately the remote start through the Android cell phone has been telling me to manually start the Mav, as the truck has gone into "Battery Saver Mode". It starts just fine when I do as instructed. Not a hint of a low battery causing a slow start. Sounds totally normal.

Yesterday the same message showed up on the cell phone. Temperature was around 5 above. Didn't bother to manually start it until this morning. No problems. Drove it about 20 miles and about a half hour after parking it I tried to remote start it as a test and the message showed up again.

So, is the battery getting old and worn out? Am I not driving it enough? Are the very low temperatures we are going through causing problems? Thoughts???

Forgot to mention that the battery is the AGM and has never had to be charged or jump started.

Russ,
Did you replace the original battery or did your Maverick originally come with an AGM?
If you replaced your battery, how long ago?

It's the original AGM in place since we got the truck.

🤔 Fact your battery is close to 4 years old👨🏼‍🦯 ??
If you have access to a battery charger. You may try charging your battery up as much as you can. Then doing the the relearn sequence.👇

Doing this may or may not give you extra time on your current battery.
If you already have a charger it's worth a shot. Keep us updated.

Good Luck,

GB

Age and cold and lack of driving enough has been taking it's toll.
It's been dipping below 12.1 V.

Pretty good really for that time - that should reassure some EB owners on the forums.

So normally battery saver mode is lights off sooner.
Did the app alert include Remote Access is disabled?
Did you attempt to remote start after you got the alert if not disabled?

You'll probably get the alert more often, but may have more than a few months left before it matters.
Carry a jump pack for the eventual day.
And know where you'll get a new battery if you want to wait, if outside the 3 yr warranty.

A good charger may extend the life somewhat, especially to get outside the cold months.

I would say being a MY22 the battery has held up well but it’s at or beyond the expected (warranted) life span. I would be prepared to replace in the near future but sounds like you can a little more life out of it charging it some

Yeah, I may have to look into this. The phone app has been a little wonky lately and I didn't know where to look first. Thanks.

The app was telling me to start the truck manually. It was showing no other options.

ok - so a sub-error to that would have been remote services are disabled, if you look around at the error.

With no option to start, lock/unlock - then remote services are disabled.

I hope they didn't change the error just so it didn't sound so bad and cause complaints.

New HVAC company after an install - "no, it's not problem of your furnace won't come on - it's in a cooler mode, notice the fan still runs".

The next best thing - make the issue appear like a feature.
"To protect your vehicle from active cyber-hacking, remote access has been disabled"

Another update. Just checked battery voltage with a digital multimeter and temperature of 15F. Reading was 11.48 volts so it looks like battery is fading away when I could really use it. I guess I will find out in a few days just how good my extended warranty is. It's easy to see how I will be told the battery is still good, as it manually starts the truck just fine.

22 models never came with an AGM battery. Its a replacement.
I was wondering about that.🤔
That's why I specifically asked in post #2
Russ,
Did you replace the original battery or did your Maverick originally come with an AGM?
If you replaced your battery, how long ago?
I wonder if the "Blu23" Maverick was new or used?

It seemed like the range of 22's that got the FLA were not the first batch, like they ran out of AGM's and then used FLA's for some production runs, then back to AGM.

Actually, didn't the FLA recall extend into 23MY?

good luck, i hope it does, but generally batteries are a wear item not covered unless its within the 3/36 or warranted period of the battery itself. i could be wrong, maybe check your warranty coverage items
