Recent Carvana offers dropping

Got my 2023 Mav Lariat two weeks ago to the day. Checked value on Carvana for kicks and giggles and it was 1300 over what I paid out the door. Today i get an email and the value has dropped by that 1300.00 So i would break even. Still implies value above sticker, however dropping at least in NE Ohio. We have several in my small-town area just outside Cleveland. Fun to see. Others seeing the same drop in their area?

Certainly there is some seasonality and many factors, but thought I would share.

I put my 22 Hybrid XLT Lux with 3,000 miles into Carvana and they offered $25,000 for it. Maybe they don't like Cyber Orange.

I have no plans of selling my truck so Carvana is a non issue for me but KBB average trade in value is as well as current dealer ADM's when it comes to what an insurance company will value your loss for in the event of an accident. Current KBB for my FX/4 with 700 miles is 33K. About the same for what a dealer would sell a similar Maverick as mine.

Just before my hybrid lariat was delivered in July, I did this and got a $40k offer. It was hilarious to me that I finally found a vehicle that appreciated once I drove it off the lot. Not that I'll be giving it up willingly.

We purchased Maverick to replace a vehicle that was over 10 years old. To drive it. Not to flip to Carvana.

I check Carvana monthly on the 1st to track my Maverick value for Quicken to track net worth.
Most vehicles depreciate but recently the opposite is true.

For me also Carvana has dropped valuation on my 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid with Co-Pilot 360, Hitch and 400 Watt Inverter in the Cabin.

On 10/1/2023 Carvana had a valuation of $33,270
Now on 11/1/2023 Carvana has it valued at $30,740

So a drop of $2,530 over one month.

My total out-the-door price was $28,341 which includes all taxes, title and all fees. I paid all cash for it and there was no trade-in.

So Carvana's offer of $30,740 is still $2,399 over what I paid for it.

I have no plans to sell my 2023 Maverick.

I sold my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid with 9,269 miles on it that I had for 1 3/4 years to Carvana for $31,404. That payment was $5,336 in profit over my total out-the-door cost of $26,068.

In effect the result was replacing my 2022 Maverick with my 2023 Maverick and getting paid $3,063

The only reason I sold my 2022 Maverick and purchased the 2023 Maverick was because I wanted the "Trailer Hitch" that was missing on the 2022.

On the 2022 Carvana had fixed the roof defect and initially listed it for sale at $35,990 or $4,586 over what they paid me.

However over the next two months they dropped the asking price six times from $35,990 downto $35,590, $34,990, $34,590, $33,990, $33,590 and now at $32,990.

That is a $3,000 price drop since their initial listing and it is now only $1,586 over what I was paid.
I feel lucky that I got the $31,404 for it.

Congratulations on getting $3,063 for accepting a 2k hitch and condolences for not having been offered a 4k hitch possibly worth $6,126?

Honestly I think that is a ploy to get you to sell. That has happened to me everytime I've let them give me an offer on a vehicle. They highball the original offer then a few days later an email stating the value has dropped. Both Carmax and Carvana have done this.

These quotes are going to be all over the place depending on regional inventory. Your Maverick is worth what it says on the check the day they hand it to you.
