Maybe. But that REALLY makes a difference in lowing the tailgate. It's was too easy for it to get away from me before I installed the strut. My wife wouldn't even try to lower it after the first time - but then, we are really old. :facepalm:

Mine IS an AGM battery so I don't think "draining" it is possible. Actually, this isn't something I would do but thanks for the idea.
