It's from Lomax. I've had it ever since the Mav was new. It looks like diamond plate! I love it. https://lomaxtonneaucover.com/

Or you could get a silver aluminum tonneau cover.

  6. Dealer does not make appointments for service

I was just wondering if this was a new, nation-wide trend? It surprised me when I went to my dealer with a question about my wife's new Escape having some wind noise and air leak in the driver's side door/window. They assured me they could look at it but when I asked about making an...
  7. New Sticker For My Maverick! "Actual Size" What Do You Think?

We've had an Actual Size sticker on my wife's 2012 Chevy Sonic hatchback for several years. I ordered it at a car show from a company that had lots of stock stickers. Got it in just a few days.
  8. Any tricks to getting the dealer logo off the paint?

Fred Beans?? I'm sorry but that is just funny. Actually, you could add an I and have Fried Beans!
  9. Flimsy hood mounting points?

Maybe. But that REALLY makes a difference in lowing the tailgate. It's was too easy for it to get away from me before I installed the strut. My wife wouldn't even try to lower it after the first time - but then, we are really old.
  10. No, it's a Ford battery

Mine IS an AGM battery so I don't think "draining" it is possible. Actually, this isn't something I would do but thanks for the idea.
  11. No, it's a Ford battery

BONUS! I just went to use the Mav for the first time after coming back from service and when I opened the door, the cab lights and dash came on and immediately went off! The truck started and ran but I'm concerned since it is doing this on a "tested good, recharged" battery, I still have...
  12. No, it's a Ford battery

This a follow up on my post about a dead battery in my 22 XLT https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/well-it-finally-happened-to-me.59151/page-4#post-1040080 that deserves a thread of its own. Today I went to pick up the Mav and was told that even though the battery wouldn't even...
  13. Well, it finally happened to me

He said it had been stolen but he hadn't replaced it. At least I have one now!
  14. Well, it finally happened to me

I joined the dead battery club today! (n) No problems this winter with sleep mode or anything but it just died this morning as I tried to start it up. Odd messages on the dash, lights flashing, and then nothing. I uncovered the battery under the back seat and removed the negative cable for a...
  15. Got oil change and transmission flush on Friday, now I notice I'm leaking transmission fluid in my driveway....

A little bit of "30 Second Cleaner" full strength on that area will take care of any stains. Just brush or spray it on, wait 30 seconds, scrub just a little bit with a stiff brush, and rinse it off with water. Amazing stuff! Be sure to wear gloves and not get any on your clothes or shoes or...
  16. Look what I found this morning

Did anyone ride with you yesterday who likes to play jokes on you?
  17. 3rd time was not charming

That is a very good point! However, I just forced the radio to search for updates and it didn't find any. I must assume it is at the latest version already. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  18. 3rd time was not charming

I don't think I've had the popping sound before the full-volume blast but I did notice something when it happened again yesterday - I have to press the radio on/off button twice to turn it off to quiet the blast. I wonder if the radio even "knows" it is on?
  19. 3rd time was not charming

It happened again a few minutes ago. Cruising along a city street at about 35MPH and the radio (which was off) suddenly came on a maximum volume on the station I had listened to yesterday. It is really shocking to have this happen with no warning. I guess I'll stop by and describe it to the...
