Both the Hybrid and EB are good choices for many reasons. It’s clear that gas mileage is a major factor in purchasing the Hybrid. I would be interested to hear the main reasons buyers chose the EB instead of the Hybrid.
Easy, 6 month wait, vs a minimum year wait. HAPPY with my Eco tho.

First, got tired of waiting on ordered Hybrid, then dealer got in the color I ordered in a EB.so looked at it,drove it-amazing power and accel. Also the price-MSRP almost the same as Hybrid, and the one I looked at has AWD-increased price some, but bought it for $15,780 out the door--below MSRP! (I got mil discount of $1000 from Ford-big,pleasant surprise (paid 4% Va sales tax) Now my ordered Hybrid is due in next week--thinking about buying it too,and reselling to make the likely $6-8K

Hybrid for me is a no go no matter the desire as I have to have AWD.

Number 1 Reason to buy an Eco-Boost powered Maverick:

250HP GAS Powered Engine!

Number 2 and on:

AWD, 4K Tow, 4 Doors, Small Open Bed.

Fuel Mileage is NOT A CONSIDERATION AT ALL for me since all the other vehicles I own and drive get HALF the fuel mileage or LESS than the Eco-Boost Maverick!

As an owner of both, the Hybrid seems to be more solid, quieter, and smoother. And actually cruises interstate speeds with less effort.
Of course the 2.0 is slightly stronger and better at tossing around curves and challenging traffic.
Of course if towing ability and awd is your concern, the 2.0 reigns Supreme.
Actually prefer the eCVT and believe it will outlast the automatic.
My spill.

Wanted AWD and saw that the Hybrids were in short supply.

While I was waiting for my Hybrid to be built, I watched a YouTube video where a couple of Ford mechanics did a review of the Hybrid powertrain. They had a Maverick Hybrid up on a lift and pointed out the various and diverse components. I learned then that the battery had a cooling/heating system - who knew?

They also displayed a large fiberglass shepard's hook, about 6 feet long with a hook two feet across. They explained that Ford provided this tool in case you happened to grab one of the 450 volt cables - your co-worker could use the hook to pull your body away from the vehicle. They further explained that this would not save your life but would give you a chance at an open casket funereal.

At that point I became much more interested in the EcoBoost.

Electricity scares me.

My spill.
The differences I noticed immediately is weight. The Hybrid's steering had more weight.
The hybrid is quieter when the engine is off. Also the drone when braking was immediately noticeable.

None of which would keep me from driving either.
Effortless on the hwy goes to the EB IMO. There is no substitute for torque.

I can find issues with either model. I prefer the heavier steering of the hybrid.

If I had the directed injected EB I would install a catch can to help with sludge removal and definitely change oil every 3,000 miles. DI engines can be quite dirty.

AWD, Increased towing/hauling, reliability (EV's are still too new), longevity.
Too new? Ford has been making hybrids since 2005.
