As Promised here is the video on the removal and re-install of the rear quarter panel. Part 2 will be painting and brief reinstall ( its always much easier going back together than taking it apart :) )

Did you do anything to seal the gap between the quarter panel and the cab? There's a gap that lets dirt and mud get up on the inside of the door. Would silicone work?

No, there is nothing from the factory there and truthfully the wheel well wont stop all mud either. I did use a good sealer over the black primed parts before assembly. A good pressure washer is your friend LOL. I dont thing some clear silicone would hurt anything but unless it is a 4wd and going out in a mud bog I wouldnt worry too much about that personally.

I'm worried about the road salt getting up in there. I'll try some silicone or something similar. Thanks 👍

I hear you I think the road salt would be flung up from the wheel well more than up inside that door. I know while I was painting I took a pressure washer and sprayed in that gap. Thankfully salt is not one of the things we have to deal too much with here in the south except for once or twice a year.

Avoid silicone or silicone based sealants...they are a bear to work with, absolutely amplify any errors and are virtually impossible to remove. Seeing this, I intend to use a clear latex based exterior caulk. Goes on white so you can see your work. Can be "smoothed" with a wet finger or tool.

DO NOT use silicone.....as a previous post stated, it's difficult to work with.....it will cause paint to crater severely......just the gases that release from the silicone have an adverse effect on the paint......you'll be repainting numerous times.....

I sent the video link to my son. He came home the other day and discovered someone had backed into his 2022 Maverick. Cracked the drivers side tail light, dented in the corner of the plastic bumper and dinged the rear quarter panel. And of course no note.

Yes, that sucks.
Consider repairing it yourself. As this post and video shows, it's not a space shuttle.
These are challenging times to get good work done.
I do realize it's a virtually new truck...
