Interesting, I was guessing the curved plastic at the top front of the bed was hiding more metal (for strength). But looks like not!

The other comment that I would make is all these trucks that are hit in the rear and totaled - Many could be repaired but the body shop estimates are through the roof. For example - All the small fasteners I removed from the damage quarter panel I'm reusing but a body shop would quote replacing every one of them. There's so much fat in most of the estimates that I've seen where they total them out. Someone is going to rebuild those after they buy them from copart and sell it with a rebuilt title
Working on Mavie 2 today - another employee wreck. Video coming soon. I can verify that it is 100% bolt on and no spot welds. Hey I'm going glass half full lol. Thought everyone would enjoy seeing the skeleton on the rear of the Maverick. My warped mind also thought it wouldn't be that hard to produce some bolt on panels that turned it into a step side 🙄

I have 2 quotes to replace a right rear quarter panel. One says it requires removing the rear window, the other does not. It appears that you didn't have to remove the rear window, correct? Also, do you think the quarter panel can be painted prior to reinstalling? Would that be a good idea? The body shop is worried about color match and wants to blend it into the rear door. But I don't want them messing with my undamaged door. Mine is Carbonized Metallic Grey. I don't mind color mismatch, if any.
