While cleaning my new Mav today I noticed that gap where the quarter meets the interior door jam. I decided that ain't gonna float for long. All the scenarios flew through my brain. Silicone seal. Nope. Latex caulk. Nope. Seam seal. Well, maybe but nope. Then I decided that maybe the quick and easy way was the best way. Weather stripping. Seems I got some with my Tonneau cover for sealing the tailgate. Not going to do that so after checking it out it is just about the right size.

The top section above the mounting tab is tighter and took some effort to install it. I used a small plastic putty knife and it worked great. The bottom part, below the mounting tab, the gap is a bit wider and took less effort to get it in properly. I think it looks OK, never see it anyway unless the door is open, so I am happy with it.

The gap might be that way on purpose from the factory.

The quarter panel is bolted on. Probably has that gap to allow adjustment. Don't think it will hurt to close it off.

I thought of that, things are always done for a reason, but in the end I came to the same conclusion as Tailender. The quarter panel, being 100% bolt on needs that 1/4" gap for proper alignment and manufacturing variables.

We live in a world up here where gaps like that can potentially cause issues that in other areas are not even a consideration.

this is normal for this model.

Why is this even a concern for you? nothing will go in the cab and if it gets dirty wipe it with a cloth.

Because I'm me. If it does not bother you, cool, you do you.
