Backup cam is better, and Lariat comes with "backup/ cross traffic" alerting.

I have an XLT, which did not have factory backup or cross-traffic sensors. I do have the camera.

Has anyone considered adding a dummy license plate on the left so it is symmetrical? I'm thinking an American flag plate. It would block the hitch connector but I don't tow very often.

I don't spend a lot of time looking at the rear of my truck and my receiver usually has a hitch ball or MotoTote in it.

I like the “uniqueness “ of the offset. Plus I can pick out other Mav’s easily so I can get ready for a wave or a nod to others with obvious good taste in vehicles.

My OCD took a while to get used to the offset location, however it kinda makes sense now. I've seen a lot of crumpled rear plates on pickups, and that's gotta sting a little.....

Offset from the hitch is great until I added a wide hitch step. Then I had to get creative!
