The lighting (LED?) is only shining on the OEM. My state (AZ) requires the plate be visible at night. The other locations would be appropriate for “dark mode” midnight moonshine hauling
Well he77, why didn't you say that in the first place?

That's why I asked. I'm in AZ too. Regardless, it wouldn't be difficult to tap into the wiring and add an LED. I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't already make a pigtail harness or a plug for the hitch wiring.

I like it where it is! Tired of cookie cutter sameness! But that’s on my trucklet…Happy to see others having fun and experimenting! Every now and then they give me something new to yearn for…

I've not seen that one. I've seen those that state the reason is that it looks just like an F-150 from the rear and screws with drivers depth perception due to the smaller size and that causes rear-end accidents. That one is equally B.S. It doesn't look like an F-150 if you look at the license plate!
Everyone here seems to forget all the shit they responded to quite a while ago! (Me included)! But go back folks, it’s all there! I go back cause others call me out and they are right, I “F” up too!

The offset rear license plate is one of the details that makes it so easy to identify another Maverick ahead of you,,,,

I wouldn't lose my hitch to put the license plate there. It doesn't bother me in the least
I don’t use my hitch or drive at night. But most folks do - one or the other or both.

Only thing that bugs me about it, is that it could be 2" further to the right... more out of the way of hitch accessories.... but guess there's some other countries with longer plates where it sells, so centering it there lets those fit.

I like the offset specifically because it bothers one of my friends. I personally don't care either way.

Personally I like the offset. It's unique to the truck. however, the plate reader at my local carwash can't read it, and they always have to open the gate manually. They don't like that.
