lol yeah. Wife likes those. I'll humor her but odds are that I'll be getting a '26 mav
Why not look for a 25 EB on the lot there are even a few 2024 EBs left in IL, IN, and WI.

While it's impossible to know if the engine speed at idle is normal without hearing it. If has a significant ( more than other vehicles) pull when put in gear, it's definitely NOT normal
Yeah subzero yesterday and I started it from app to prewarm to help get ice off the windows and it's running at high idle, which might disturb people who are too sensitive and who have already killed vehicles from towing in too high a gear because they don't like anything over 1500 rpm.

I'm not saying OP is like that, just that we know there are people like that, and OP has to give us more to separate his case from that.

Never happened to me.
Sounds scary, please let us all know what was going on when you figure it out

The 2026’s show a price reduction across the line, all trim levels and new package option combo’s.

What was described is dangerous, but what is likely occurring is far less grave and life threatening.
I tend to agree this to actually be the case. The problem is, do you really want to risk finding out it is life threatening the hard way?

I guess I just don't think it is truly life threatening. A pulsating brake pedal (which is not the engine) and an engine revving at high RPM to warm up doesn't equal life threatening danger.

I agree, and further thought is: if Ford really thought there could be such a severe problem, they would be all over this although quietly. I.E. buying the car or at least putting the OP in a loaner until resolution.

Has anyone been killed or injured yet?
I didn’t think so.

Trade it in on a 2026.
Maybe. Maybe not. We don't know what we don't know. Not even sure I want to know.

That is a good suggestion on the MY25 EB. No GPF on the 25 & has more included features than the “stripped” MY 26.

I'll probably just end up with an EB maverick or something.
That sweet turbo feel is great! That mpg not so great!

I love my 25 EB. They are discounting them now - but I’m still glad I did not wait.

Be aware 2026 XLT EB has eliminated the back seat fold out double sport drink holder for the boys. Also, the spare tire is gone for a fix-a-flat kit.

And all 2026 EB’s now include the Gas Particulate Filter for the very first time. Maintenance & Reliability are an unknown…

I’m begging you to find a 2025 on sale!:)

Did you buy it Used (and possibly abused)?
You only said you “drive a 2023 Hybrid”
Most of us say up front “bought new” or “picked up used” to help describe the sit.

I’ve only seen the higher idle in cold temps.
If you feel it’s dangerous you need to take appropriate action at Ford service.

Purchased new. Dealership couldn't replicate it but hypothesized that it was due to a very low battery and some kind of unexplained draw on it related to the air conditioning system, which I've seen corroborated by others that had a low battery in this thread. I picked it up today, and will just have to turn on my camera every time I start it for the next while in case it happens again.
