Why not. I can see if that helps. I am, when going up mountains, giving it more gas to maintain a specific speed and this is where the truck just falls flat on its face. It fails to downshift and totally stops giving the throttle command the the engine.
Another solution is to have cruise on (if you have it) and active at set speed. There could be something programing wise if you have cruise on but not active. I see you have Ecoboost which I do not know if throttle is old school with cable or is like hybrid is electronic where computer is reading pedal position.

That was my thought too, try cruise control. Also the driving mode Mike make a difference, along with incline steepness, tire pressure, surface of road, weight of cargo, and then all the drivetrain components from engine to sensors, etc etc.
