  1. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Unfortunately I don't have heated seats or steering wheel. I can't say I've ever really paid a ton of attention to the temp gauge since it's a newer car and I figured I don't need to, so it's hard to say what's normal for the truck. I don't by any means claim to be a subject matter expert, but...
  2. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Okay, so today was a good test run. It was 11° when I left for work today. After driving about 15 minutes I noticed it was idling high (not anywhere near what it was doing previously, but still high) and I observed that the temperature gauge was still only between "C" and the first notch. So, I...

They do reimburse for mileage, but the combined cost of a higher payment and significantly more fuel consumption would eat into my net income, which is why i opted for hybrid in the first place. The hybrid turns driving for work into a net profit center for me.

While I could afford (and would functionally love) something midsized like a Tacoma/Ridgeline/Ranger, the fact that my job has me driving close to 20k miles per year, mostly city miles, makes the Mav hybrid or something with similar fuel economy the top priority for me.
  5. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Purchased new in 2023. The RPMs were definitely way higher than a high idle, but the dealership alleges that they think it was caused by a low battery. I don't know whether I fully buy that, but I'm also not an auto electric expert by any stretch, so I'll give it a whirl and see what happens.
  6. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Definitely not a floor mat issue. The hard liners I have in there are nowhere close enough to get the pedal stuck under it, thankfully.
  7. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

We'll find out. I need to give it some time to see if whatever they did fixed it. I'm in and out a lot for work, so I'll have several opportunities per day to test it out over the next week or so.
  8. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Purchased new. Dealership couldn't replicate it but hypothesized that it was due to a very low battery and some kind of unexplained draw on it related to the air conditioning system, which I've seen corroborated by others that had a low battery in this thread. I picked it up today, and will just...
  9. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

lol yeah. Wife likes those. I'll humor her but odds are that I'll be getting a '26 mav
  10. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Between my mountain biking and my kids both playing hockey, the bed is basically non-negotiable for me. I used to have an escape and on days where my kids both had games/practice, it was basically impossible to fit them and their gear in the car. I'll probably just end up with an EB maverick or...
  11. accelerates on its own after jump start

When this happened did the engine rev really high too?
  12. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Unfortunately I probably won't own it long enough to find out. Since the dealership can't replicate it, and I can't in good conscience put myself/kids/other drivers at risk, I'm likely just going to trade it in and bite the bullet on something else. Too bad there's nothing else in the market to...
  13. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

To be fair I have no way of knowing what the exact RPM's were, since it doesn't have a tach, but I do know that it was revved wayyyy higher than it's ever revved in cold temps, like approaching, maybe in the neighborhood of 4-5k at least. And for clarification, it didn't push thru the brakes...
  14. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

I've owned it since new, yeah. This just started last week. I'm also here in Michigan.
  15. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Maybe both. It's definitely not a slight rev, and it would be great to get on camera. I'm already shopping for something new since it's likely there won't be any kind of resolution to whatever is causing the issue. Not a lot of vehicles on the market competing with the hybrid mav, unfortunately...

You got me there, I'll admit that
  17. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

To be clear I haven't engaged an attorney. I want to see what options the dealership and FMC can come up with before I do that. Ideally, I would love it if the dealership staff could replicate the problem and catch it on a scanner, because I obviously am in a conundrum if I pick it up and...
  18. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Thank you for your input. It's extremely constructive and not at all keyboard-warrior-esque. I look forward to more productive ideas from you in the future. The whole point of my post was trying to see if anyone else had similar issues (and subsequent resolution) so I can bring it up as an...
  19. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

Any recommendations on a decent one that won't break the bank?
  20. Potentially Dangerous High Engine Rev

I definitely know the difference lol. By the sounds of it, the ICE was easily north of 4k. Beyond the fact that it's potentially dangerous, I also shut it off immediately because having a cold engine revving that high immediately after starting the car can't be good for the engine itself.
