Also I thought I was reading that a dealership doesn't have to disclose if a vehicle was damaged in shipping. They fix it and can still sell it as new.
That is right, they can do that. It will never show up on Carfax or anything like that, because those systems don't start tracking until the vehicle is sold.

I wouldn't count on any "in transit" vehicles being available. Most are customer orders. The dealer displays them to draw interest.

FYI, the linked one has a blue window sticker, customer orders have green ones.

Maybe there was a typo in the ramp code and it went to Montana?

Sounds like the programming crew taken off the backup camera and battery issues have been re-assigned to the notification system for orders/deliveries.

You are one patient person. I'd have been there the next day.
Back in 22 I was checking status every couple hours like a kid on Christmas. When I ordered my mach the salesman knew what kind of nut I was and called me as it was being delivered and I watched it come out of the enclosed trailer. They were not going let me have it until Apr 1 because of the cup 2 tires. I begged them to have it early. I got it a day early.

damage or test drives seems very likely to me. why else wouldn't they want to get it sold asap? turn and earn, baby.

There are many reasons why they had not have called you yet. One being they need to do all the prep and check lists, and have several vehicles arriving at the same time.
I guess by now you have heard from them, so bring us up to date.

Update... It was damage causing the delay.... Sales Manger just called me. He said when they did the delivery inspection they noticed a deep chip in the paint. They needed to have that part repainted being that it's a new vehicle. He is going to find out where the chip was exactly and let me come down and take a look at it today when I get out of work.

That's not so bad, I guess. As long as you can't tell where the damage was, I probably wouldn't sweat it. At least they didn't sell it to someone else by mistake. That happens. I'm sure we have a few MTC members that can attest to that.

go in good light, or have them park it in a bay with good lights. inspect very carefully.

do not buy it until you then inspect the repainted work. there are very good body shops that will do well. there are, unfortunately, some that will do this as cheap as possible and it may be noticeable.
