You know you are going to be waiting, what else do you need to be updated with?

In Canada, we don't get anything from Ford. Only dealers. My dealer updated me with Vin and Shipping, and I don't need an update until it's landed. I won't bug them for rail cars, and terminals and yards like so many do here.

It will get here when it gets here. Times are tough, be patient, OR don't order a new car and buy a used car you can get immediately.
As I said, I don't mind the waiting that much. It's the lack of communication. The dealer told me about six weeks initially. It's like if you waited in line to get into your bank and they said a couple of hours and then it took 30 hours- you might have prepared differently. And then, not have been as pleased with what they told you.

I haven't gotten any information from the dealer either. What if they cancel my order after this time? What if it takes two years? "It will get here when it get's here" Get's here or gets canceled? No VIN, no shipping and no thought or guess of a build date. IF I had a VIN, some (rough) shipping info or other assurances I would be patient.

Just got the news I got pushed out again... now scheduled for production 8/8.... and of course no email from ford since they said it was scheduled for 6/20. I'll keep waiting but this is the last car I buy new from ford.

Sure, I understand the new normal. What I'm whining about is the lack of communication and the not knowing the if or when of the situation. If not me they could let the dealer know.
Really, Ford needs to take a look at their entire system. The expectation is that special orders will take 3, maybe 6 months tops. Right now they have excuses but going into next year and beyond the waits should be genuinely shorter, but either way they have to get a LOT better at keeping people informed. Forums like this aren't going away and buyers will always be able to compare notes. IMO a big part of the problem is the existing dealer system since they are the middleman and are the cause of a lot of the shenanigans we hear about.

Something has to change.

Want attention from Ford? email? calls?

Poke used car brokerages. I gave TrueCar my contact info and BAM! Ford dealers blew up my phone within hours! calling & emailing me for 2 weeks non-stop!! "Reaching out again ... let me know about that Ranger" :sneaky:

This was back before I put my Mav order in.

I don't get how people who ordered right before the deadline are surprised they are waiting so long. There was a cut off for a reason. They are really behind. Next time don't wait lol.

I agree completely. Just what I have been thinking. 59 here and with 16 vehicles under my belt, my hybrid Mav is the second fastest I've owned. Sick of hearing the "underpowered" nonsense from some corners. And even my 88' Mustang 5.0 was only a second and a half faster to 60. That with over 40 MPG is a dream come true. Love love LOVE my Maverick....and I would be kicking my myself from here to China if I had weasled out and got the turbo.
Yup, totally agree. Maverick Hybrid is 0-60 in 7.6 seconds. 1965 Mustang K-code with 271 HP and 4-speed manual was the same at 7.6 seconds per Car and Driver and Motor Trend back in the day. That level of performance at 40 MPG with 2000 pound tow rating, braked OR unbraked trailer (my boat trailers are all unbraked) at MSRP of $21,590 with the $100 hitch option, in 2022, is insane. If I had to wait until Christmas this year, I’d still wait because there are NO other options for that kind of money. I can get a truck with no Hybrid cost premium that can tow, fit in my garage, tow for 300 miles on a tank of gas, all for $21,590, plus the usual tax, title, registration and doc fee, plus I’ve got my Farm Bureau $500 e-coupon already loaded in Smart Vincent for my VIN making it even less.
It’s an absolute no brainer in today’s crazy world.
And for nice sunny days, I’ve still got the ‘73 Mustang Convertible.

I'm telling you guys, just switch to the FWD ecoboost, you won't be sorry. I fully believe that unless you're in nose to tail traffic all day, the hybrid isn't worth it.
I totally disagree, my commute is 65 miles round trip daily that is mostly hills. My last tankful averaged 52.8mpg. The best trip was 64.3mpg. There is no way that an eco boost will come close to that at all.

received my hybrid about a month ago. averaging 42 mpg with mixed 45mph town and 60mph highway driving. with gas at over $5 gal, this is a big deal. However, if the majority of your driving is 75-80 mph interstate, then yep, diminished returns and reduced towing. took my 13 vw jetta into town, took 1.3 gal of 93octane at $6/gal, so $8 for one trip into town. I parked that car and put it up for sale as soon as I got back home. At these gas prices, 20's mpg for town/mix is expensive enough to have to calculate the cost of each trip. I decided to wait and not change a thing. and it was a good decision. From someone who actually owns the hybrid

I guess my experience was if I wanted an update, I would call Ford. the person I talked to was always polite and helpful - got good information for me. not always what I wanted to hear, but they were easy to call and didnt give me a 'canned response'. It was always detailed and specific. So, IMO, no issue with communication at all

I don't think it's an electrical issue causing shipping issues, but there does appear to be an electrical issues with some hybrids, it being something to do with a wiring harness and possible battery connector.
