I noticed that the passenger side wiper blade presses into the plasticy, rubbery trim piece at the bottom of the windshield. It actually bows the wiper blade a little bit. Does anyone else notice this on their Maverick? The design is similar on my Bronco Sport but it does do this on it.

Here's the Maverick:

My First Edition Hybrid wipers don't go down that far but I thought they should for air dynamics

Might check and see if that wiper was put on correctly or the passenger/driver side wipers were swapped. Driver side is 22 inches and passenger side is 21 inches in length.

You can move it up and down. I noticed when I washed the truck that it can be repositioned by hand up or down an inch. Try putting it back where it’s supposed to be and see if it stays after using the wipers.

Just did a front windshield glass chip repair 3"s above the right wiper. Did not notice it touching or bowing.

BUT, when I moved the wipers manually so I could repair, as SOON as I turned on the ignition, the wipers repositioned and no touching or bowing.

I just washed my windshield for the first time. Only had it for a week and I noticed the wipers stuck up past the black area after my first use. I wonder if this is an issue as there seems like a lot of play and I can push them down to the correct position. But as soon as I use them they are stuck above the black area again.

Maybe an adjustment on the wipers themselves.

Just looked at mine. The right side is just above the black while the driver side is about 1-1.5" into the black.

Visit to the dealer? Not sure. Maybe ask FMC.

I have the same issue. I was very annoyed with it, because it prevents the wipers from coming to rest all the way down when turned off. It's an obvious design flaw. My way of 'fixing' it was to replace the passenger side blade with one that is an inch shorter than the original. It still contacts that seal, but it allows it to go down a little farther when off.

It should be stopping on the circle in a circle that you see slightly above it. That's the marking for alignment.

Although with the wiper linkage assembly being movable when unpowered it sometimes doesn't take much to shove them down. I noticed with our lovely blizzards here of late the snow can push them down to getting wedged into the rubber piece.

Just noticed mine this week , passenger side wiper not parking low enough, moves by hand to better position. Anybody actually get it fixed?

For what it’s worth…mine does the same thing and I was told it was normal as well. I don’t get it either. Be prepared for other head scratching things with your Maverick…ie. Check your center console. Mine came with felt on it from the factory to keep to quiet.

Mine was parking too high up. I removed the wiper arm and moved it downward a bit and now it parks perfectly. It was bugging me because from inside I could see the wiper when turned off, now it's "hidden".

Note: I removed the arm (with the hood open). I had to use a wiper arm removal tool as I could not get it free without the tool, even with some prying against a wood block.

My passenger wiper blade is like that too. Only issue I have . thought maybe the wiper was to long . I’m having the dealer look at them when I change my oil
