I tried to order ours on line but could not choose my dealer. So we just drove there with my “build sheet” and he did it right there. Got all the printouts, order sheet, etc and email confirmation from Ford within about 30 minutes…Once again I don't understand how these things happen you have to go online build your truck dealer calls you sends you a pre Dora to be signed by you which goes to Ford who then in turn sends back the Dora with your build specifications and trim level truck along with an order number and dealer code and then at which time you should get an email from Ford saying order confirmed if thoese steps didn't happen you got it all wrong and your dealer wasn't very helpful. Hopefully if you move forward with purchasing a Maverick truck you will follow these steps and get the order right the next time and not have these issues. It's not Ford's fault that you're dealer an idiot
Strictly from the DealerDid you ever get emails directly from Ford about the status of your order, or was communication about the build entirely through your dealer?
We filled out the online order sheet and then went to the dealer. He filled out the same online sheet. Had me confirm that it was correct. He took a copy of our drivers license and a $500 deposit. I had read about Ford's protocol when ordering and was concerned when we didn't get a conformation from Ford. I went back to the Dealer and inquired about it with the Salesman. He got his manager and they assured me everything was ok. This Dealership has been in business for 20 years. There's not enough information here to form a decent opinion about what happened.
As others have said, two plausible explanations are that your order was not properly submitted or that they made a mistake in describing your vehicle.
The "order sheet" your salesman just showed you could be a DORA, a buyer's order, or something else entirely. It could be a document that was created back in August when you ordered or it could be something the salesman just generated to cover himself.
It would help if you had your original ordering paperwork and a copy of the "order sheet" the salesman showed you. Also, do you remember if the salesman took a copy of your driver license?
The fact is that Ford has botched every new model roll out they have had in the last 5 years and not one time have they delivered every ordered vehicle in the first model year. You need to add “in my opinion” because there are many folks closer to Ford that disagree, You are entitled to your opinion and express it as often as you would like. Thanks - please consider.
Except there is already a $1,495 destination charge. Nobody gets the truck for less than $21k. But if you believe it to be true - then keep rocking that thought guy.Not sure about that A under 20K Hybrid PU Truck with 43 Highway is a big claim to fame. I personally would leave it alone and tack the numbers on the XLT and Lariat to make up the difference.
All good points to consider - thanks for sharing. The fact is that Ford has botched every new model roll out they have had in the last 5 years and not one time have they delivered every ordered vehicle in the first model year.
My opinion is that I have not seen anything from Ford that would indicate the Maverick will be any different.
Ford has already admitted they underestimated the demand for the Hybrid. The Hybrid already had a delay in the OKTB, Maverick has had stop buys twice, recalls, and plant shutdowns due to material shortages.
Thanks - please consider.
My wife and I ordered a Maverick XL Hybrid with a towing package on 8/1/2021. We were pretty excited. We had bought new vehicles in the past, but had never ordered one. I had read about the protocol to order and after a few days, I contacted the salesman. I asked him about it. He assured me it was done correctly. After a couple of weeks, I stopped in again and asked if they had a confirmation number. The salesman said they had and referred me to his boss. The manager again assured me it had been ordered would keep In touch. I stopped in October and was informed by the manager he had good news. The truck was scheduled to be build the week of November 22. The first week in December, the salesman called and said our truck was in. Fantastic. We went to the dealership and waited while the truck was being cleaned. They brought it around and it wasn't our truck. It was an XLT with the Echo boost. They apologized. On January 4th I stopped in the dealership. The salesman was out, so I left a message inquiring if there had been any news. An hour later, the salesman called and said Ford cancelled the order without explanation. He said I could get a truck without the Hybrid option or order the Hybrid in when the 2023 season starts. I was extremely disappointed. I never did get a conformation or any correspondence directly from Ford.
I can't believe I read this entire thread. We filled out the online order sheet and then went to the dealer. He filled out the same online sheet. Had me confirm that it was correct. I wanted to do that but local dealer said $3k ADM to key in the orderI tried to order ours on line but could not choose my dealer. So we just drove there with my “build sheet” and he did it right there. Got all the printouts, order sheet, etc and email confirmation from Ford within about 30 minutes…
I'm not sure I see what's so mysterious here. Thinking about my own experience:A few things jump out at me.
1. you stated multiple times you "read the process on how to order your truck".. Where did you read this?
2. In this posting you stated that had read fords protocol when ordering, again where did you read this?
3. Do you have a copy of the order sheet that you signed? If not why?
Some things don't add up about this.
No, that was FWD Ecoboosts that they removed the Towing Package option. To keep the towing package it was required to switch to AWD, but Ford would credit the difference.Wasn't Ford saying Tow Package was going to be an option on Hybrid then changed that? Probably after some real world testing.
Well you would be happy to learn that Ford has acknowledged that many of the Lightening orders will eventually be 2023 / 2024.Sorry could have worded that better. You should expect correspondence in July as it gets closer to when MY23 order banks open up.
I'm telling you - not ALL MY22 hybrid orders will be built as MY22 orders.
I think once the OP answers my post, more things will be answered. However, the way the OP writes his posts once can assume he is an informed consumer. But like I stated, why does he NOT have a copy of his purchase order. Now if the dealer isn't giving people a copy of the signed order sheet, that is a problem, you signed it, you should get a copy of it. We are hearing about all the shady dealers out there, and I'm sure we will hear more and more people got screwed out of their Mavericks because dealers are getting greedy.I'm not sure I see what's so mysterious here. Thinking about my own experience:
So what am I missing? What is it that "doesn't add up"?
- Ordering process: I read about it on Ford's website.
- Ordering protocol: I read about it on this forum and heard about it on Tim Bartz's webcast.
- Order sheet: Sometimes people get a copy and sometimes the dealer doesn't give them one. Both have happened to multiple people who have reported it here.
