I am actually taking an optimistic view of the recent date change from August to September. I believe the change is due to Ford
actually listening to its dealers and customers
. For the past few months dealers and customers have been communicating to Ford
the major problems with opening the order banks August 2nd, especially for unfulfilled MY22 orders. I'm not going to list all of the well
known issues but I foresee a much more logical process for transferring the MY22 orders to MY23 in September. The most important
changes are that customers will know the "special offer" details as well as the MY23 details/costs at least a week before the order banks open and that
there will be a short period of time when only MY22 transfers will be accepted before new MY23 orders can be placed.

You can't have it both ways! You can't complain about Ford's incompetence but then when they react to the complaints - you still complain.

Being the cynical person I am I will belive it when I see it. But what you said does make perfect sense. Maybe Ford is getting their act together.

This is the MTC, optimism of any kind is not allowed. Please edit your post in the form of a complaint.

Gents, it is what it is.

I have no doubt Ford wants to build as many of these as possible, but we all know of the global supply chain issues, which are not going away any time soon . . . .

I would be okay with the delay if they still give us the order guides on/around August 2nd and even better, if they open the build and price before the ordering date opens in September. That would make the transition easier and give people time to decide what they want (initially at least) rather than have everyone rush to put in a random order to get it in and have a mess of people changing it again a few weeks later.

I think they will have changed it or finalizing prices with intrest rate shake up . Also will decide what to do about current incentives that end on the 5th, also the Detroit auto show September on the 14th … there’s somthing fishy about that where the new mustang is going to be shown off

I like it. They have more orders than they can build, why start taking new orders?

I'm on the fence about the change in date. I can TOTALLY see where it makes sense and that they jumped the gun so to speak. Opening the order banks for more than one vehicle on the same day simply wasn't a great move.

Yet, the way they do things doesn't leave me with the hope I would like to have (i.e., gotten their act together). I'm kind of been there, done that with that belief.

I've decided that I'm going with the flow and while I'm waiting I'm seriously looking at my alternatives. You have to keep options open and eggs in several baskets!

I'm going with the flow as well. It's not like they were going to start building 23's on August 3 so the delay is still a month and a half or so before October 24. Losing the current incentive is a hit that is gonna cost money though. To some it means a level of imprtance, to others it appears not so much. I associate with the former. Can always be worse I guess, right?

They underestimated the demand because the "Big Three" (actually Big Two) auto makers are still run by people who think anything under 6000 lbs and 400ci is not going to sell.
Japan figured it out in the 60's. Iacocca figured it out, but the rest are still "Lost in the Fifties Tonight" with Ronnie Milsap. No, I'm no going to explain it. That is google's job.

How does one format a paragraph like this?
