Artifact of metric or US/CA conversion? Another good question why is tyre pressure 37 PSI and not 255,106 Pascal?
Canadian I guess. I’ve been using PSI on tires for 50 years. I always thought tyres was European.

Pretty sure you can change the measurements to display Metric or Imperial - at least for the Instrument Cluster screen. Not sure about the app, because I do not use the buggy app, which seems to cause more angst than it's worth.
Right, not on app but I can on my dash screen.

I think this is another one of those cases where the metric is technically more accurate but the imperial is easier to understand. It could literally be labeled anything but setting the air pump to "35" is a lot easier to remember.

I don’t know. I’m old enough to remember imperial, that’s what I was brought up with. I hated it when Canada changed to metric. To this day I still use litres etc. but also inches and feet. Never got centimetres and meters.

LOL, once you're out of oil (empty) it's time to change it.

Strange that they use the word "empty"...
It's an EcoBoost. Totally normal 😂

Don't forget that petrol thing too.

It just means until it's time to change it.

Oil life counter, not amount of oil in the vehicle. It is set at 10,000 miles/16,000 Km at which point it will tell you the oil change is due. I change mine every 5,000 miles.

US Land Surveyors measure in tenths of a foot. 6" = .50 feet, 8" = .67 feet.

Even worse is when the government wanted to convert to metric to be more world unified. The subdivision plats now had to be in metric with imperial units added for the public. It lasted less then 2 years and went away.

Ahh, now I get it! Thanks. Wish it went away here, actually, never came here.

Good one, I was hoping someone would chime in about shorter intervals. Fords recommended service intervals are set to make you're vehicle last long enough to be out of warranty before major repair. Not to make your vehicle last as long as possible without major repairs.

I'm too am a 5,000(50%) mile interval person 👍. Transmission fluid will be every 25K miles. The downside of doing early fluid changes is peanuts and the upside is potentially signifigant money. As much as it is a PITA I also do themyself because it's not about if they'll screw it up, it's when☹.

My interpretation, and the only one that makes sense to me, is that the OLM shows the percentage of "oil life" remaining until an oil and filter change is recommended. It is a count down to service.

I just past 1 year on my ‘23 hybrid and at only 3,600 miles (yes, I don’t drive it as much as I would like due to too many cars) displays the “change oil soon” dashboard message. And I am within the shaded area on the dipstick. How is oil life calculated? # of miles driven, # of days since last change, oil level, etc?
