I think this is another one of those cases where the metric is technically more accurate but the imperial is easier to understand. It could literally be labeled anything but setting the air pump to "35" is a lot easier to remember.
I don’t know. I’m old enough to remember imperial, that’s what I was brought up with. I hated it when Canada changed to metric. To this day I still use litres etc. but also inches and feet. Never got centimetres and meters.

Even worse is when the government wanted to convert to metric to be more world unified. The subdivision plats now had to be in metric with imperial units added for the public. It lasted less then 2 years and went away.
Ahh, now I get it! Thanks. Wish it went away here, actually, never came here.
But... Surveyors have been using tenths of a foot for decades not tenths of a meter. Just weird.

Good one, I was hoping someone would chime in about shorter intervals. Fords recommended service intervals are set to make you're vehicle last long enough to be out of warranty before major repair. Not to make your vehicle last as long as possible without major repairs.
