I have a question please what is a good recommended number of miles before oil change. Currently I am at 6000 miles and it says 46% oil life in the app. I have flat towed it an addition 3000 miles

The app also gives how many estimated miles more - what's that?

It'll probably start taking a nose-dive in % as you get closer to the 1 yr date and 30% - unless you are going to come in before that with mileage around 10K.

With a 25MY - you should know exactly how many of those miles are electric.
Should help reassure you how many miles actually on the ICE.

If you are towing, follow the severe maintenance schedule in the owners manual.

Otherwise, every 5000 miles. 10k mile changes are only recommended for what the manual calls normal driving conditions (mostly freeway driving, with no short trips, no stop and go traffic, etc).

Hybrid is 10k miles or 1 year. 5k is for Ecoboom only.

Per the 2025 owners manual, there is no set interval, the oil life monitor will tell you when to change it, just don't exceed 1 year (I'll admit, I do every 5000 miles anyway, especially since I live in a cold region where we see single digits & negative temps every winter ... and oil is cheap when doing DIY oil changes):

Your vehicle has an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor that determines when you should change the engine oil based on how you use your vehicle. By using several important factors in its calculations, the monitor helps reduce the cost of owning your vehicle and reduces environmental waste at the same time.

This means you do not have to remember to change the oil on a mileage-based schedule. Your vehicle lets you know when an oil change is due by displaying a message in the instrument cluster display.

The following table provides examples of vehicle use and its impact on oil change intervals. It is a guideline only. Actual oil change intervals depend on several factors and generally decrease with severity of use.

The oil life monitor is not inaccurate. Either change it when the monitor tells you to, which is Ford's recommendation. Or change according to some made up more frequent internet advice interval for 'peace of mind'.

Read the manual about the conditions for that 10k interval, it’s not for everyone.

It is very easy to meet the requirements for a 5,000 mile oil change interval. Severe use includes a lot of local, stop and go driving, and use in a hot climate for much of the year. That makes our hybrid require the 5,000 mile intervals to maintain our warranty status.

From the 2025 owners manual, severe service intervals are defined for :

• automatic transmission fluid change (every 30k miles instead of 150k miles)
• spark plugs (every 60k miles instead of 100k miles)
• power transfer unit (maybe ... "The PTU lubricant may be more likely to require a fluid change if the vehicle has extended periods of extreme or severe duty cycle driving. Changing or checking the PTU lubricant is not necessary unless the unit has been submerged in water, shows sign of leakage."

However, no mention of oil change (as that's the intelligent oil life monitor's job) except for one condition that most (all?) of us are not in:

"Vehicles operating in the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa or locations with similar climates using an American Petroleum Institute (API) Certified for Gasoline Engines (Certification mark) oil of SM or SN quality, the oil change interval is 5,000 mi (8,000 km)."
