Thx for feedback, i am thinking that as well 10k, then i will wait for 20000-30000m to submit OA, I bet these can run well after 10k and still have excellent numbers on oil analysis. My engine runs very little, when it does, i stay out of the throttle, i am running 70% e mode miles. The time that the ICE runs is low steady RPM. Kinda like a stationery generator. They last forever and oil lasts very long time as well.

I did my first oil change at 5900 miles, oil looked good with some flecks of sealant from the break in process. OLM said I was at 65% oil life. I will probably change the oil at ~9k intervals.

only filter my local walmart had for my 2.5l was the Fram Ultra synthetic, so I used that. Thinking about buying some motorcraft filters and just keeping a box of them in my garage.

I have the 2.0. I'm doing mine at 3K then every 7K to be safe. 10k would be fine though. Oil life meters are pretty accurate these days, but I feel better changing it early. Had an 06 Titan with 180K miles on it. I changed it every 7-8K with synthetic. I'll be using the motor craft filters and mobile 1 oil.

Changed oil and filter at 2115 miles. Used Mobil 1 0W-20 EP and Motorcraft FL-910s filter. The oil was still a golden brown, no fuel smell, and NO SPARKLES in the old oil.

Good move on using Motorcraft, if Mav is in dealership, they love to see MC. Its good to hear of other people that are not over changing their oil. I believe the first OC is one of the most important, because its your break in, change it too soon and it doesnt get broke in as well.

The ECO boost guys have to keep and establish a different schedule because of the fuel oil dilution. I could only go 7-8k on my f150 3.5 eco Gen 2 because of gas in the oil dilution.

I bought a case of fl910s of amazon. I am thinking more and more just staying on schedule and doing 10k oci, although its always a good idea to send in a sample to blackstone. Wait till the 20k-30k to send in one as it usually takes a couple of changes to get the casting sand out so the SI will be in check.

Good move, then its just so much easier to have them on the shelf. And Ford cant void waranty for having a china oil filter, cheap insurance.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this as I don't have time to read all replies but if you have Discount Tire in your area (or an affiliate) and use them frequently, you can bring the Mav in and they will rotate and balance the tires knowing you are a loyal customer and there will be no charge. Have done that with every car we brought in to the family of 5 drivers and they have never charged me because I buy all my tires there.

Did first oil change at 1600 miles. No metal but the color was odd.

Joe, good advice, i usually will pay them $16 a tire to balance/rotate for life of tires.

Thats why i brought up NOT buying their locking lugnuts from them. They are questionable quality at best.

This is why i dont understand why anyone would rotate tires and not spin them on a balancer every 5-6000m? Theres Discount in this entire area and they rule for tire purchasing, repair, and balancing.

Whats cool is they let you use any Discount tire or kingdom? I had a weight that got thrown from a wheel when i was on a road trip, i looked up the closest store pulled in, balanced fixed out the door. Free of charge..

I have the EB 2.0 Maverick. I had my first oil change at 1000 miles. My future oil changes will be at 4000-5000 miles or every 6 months with full synthetic since this is a turbo engine and I will be towing a Scamp trailer during camping seasons. I usually keep my vehicles 10 years so I want this pick-up to last this long.

Have you gotten the app and scheduled appointments? Time save beyond belief. And I drive over 30K a year so every 5K it saves me time.

I'ma do my first at 5K. I drive a lot of highway miles so thinking the ICE works more than normal.

And definitely rotate and balance the tires. That's one of the reasons your ride is so nice. Wear 'em evenly.
i think for those folks who drive a Ecoboost have different oil change frequencies to consider. the EB is a ICE powertrain that runs 100% of the time and therefore will need more frequent oil changes than a Hybrid over the same mileage intervals i would think
whether Hybrid or ICE it is recommended that the oil be changed at least once p/yr even f you put very few miles on the vehicle each year. most oil has detergents and other additives that will break down over time and lose their effectiveness.

i did my 1st oil change on my 23 hybrid at around 1750 miles at the dealership, rotated the tires as well. going forward i intend to change the oil annually or whenever the oil life indicator gets to 25% left, whichever comes 1st. my service advisor tried his best to talk me out of the early change but i believe firmly in getting that 1st oil change done early and had it done anyway. i went with the OEM synthetic blend & recommended filter by the way.
