16 months with a keypad and we’ve never used it, I didn’t read the previous 9 pages so I’m not sure what the purpose of the keypad is. I don’t even know the number to use it.
A card with the master code came in my owners manual package.

I had the sticky one on my last Ranger and loved it. Always kept my Ranger locked in the garage and when outside puttering and needed something from the truck I could just use the keypad to get in and grab a tool or whatever.

I voted to keep it and glad to be getting the "wired" one with my XLT. Wake up Ford. These keypads are a Ford thing. Keep em and cheapen up somewhere else if you feel the need to save a few bucks.

Once again, I am the oddball. I am jumping for joy over the keypad delete. I can appreciate the functionality, but it just looks so damn ugly. So ugly in fact, that I ordered XL instead of XLT last year because of it (that and the orange interior accents).

If it's brought back; PLEASE let it be for 2025, or allow an option code to delete the feature.

I have 2 BMW’s with Comfort Access, you walk up to the car and touch the handle and it opens and you push a button it starts. If you have to pull your key out to start your XL or XLT then the keypad is worthless. Flame-me but I would never leave my keys in a vehicle, make sure you hide it with you gun, house key, garage remote, phone and wallet for convenience.

I ordered mine today. XLT, with XLT Lux pkg. the 2024 build guide list the keypad as being standard on 2024 XLT. Should I not expect this option? Thanks.

Build guide has historically had errors on first publish. Will have to see if Ford updates order guide, which currently lists as no longer included.

lol....I would think at the least, curiosity of a little key pad on your door would trigger some investigation.....

not necessarily. I literally never used it on my '92 Taurus SHO. I got it used, didn't know the code, and didn't care.

Not using it (assuming you knew what it was for) vs. not even knowing it's purpose, would certainly trigger a different thought process in my mind... But then again, I've never claimed to be normal, so.... :alien:

LOL seriously.

The person quoted obviously did not literally mean that he didn't know what to do with it. He meant that he had no use for it, same as me.

Two points……..
1) Wife and I go out to run some errands. She does hers;
I do mine. Fob stays in the truck. Whomever gets back first just punches in the code and climbs in.
2) Keep in mind that just touching the door handle, while locking the door, does NOT arm the alarm. Hitting the bottom two buttons on the keypad does both.
Thanks for that info: I though locking the door by touching the handle set the alarm, now I know better!

For a farm truck it makes a lot of sense. You leave the truck at a spot to move a tractor, when someone comes back for the truck they can get in an go. No hunting around for who has the keys.

Same boat. When my 23 Lariat comes in I will have a 22 XLT Hybrid Lux with keypad available. Even throw in the wireless airplay adaptor as well!
