If they didn't have an allocation system a few big dealers would get all of the cars and small, rural dealers would get none. They are allocated on sales so all dealers get a chance but does reward good performers (isn't that the way we do it in a capitalist economy).

There is no guarantee on instant, unlimited availability for anything that is sold. For example, Toyota says it can take 18 months to get a Toyota Camry hybrid. Several popular models have long waits. Get over it.

Right now there is no direct competition for the Maverick (Santa Cruz is not real competition). Soon there may be but that is the case for most vehicles. The F150 and Super Duty has direct competition but are still best sellers.

You and Bill came into an existing game plan and are upset it isn't going your way. You have no control over the rules so you have to play the game as is or take your ball and go home. BTW, it only took 3 months for me to get mine.
Very well said, there's so much hate for Ford's system but it obviously works, they've been around for over 100 years and remember that they didn't take bailout loans back in the day. Most of the hate is just emotional reaction instead of thinking of it logically.

No real offense meant. More like a ford Chevy thing. I actually think plug in hybrid is the most practical style. All electric cars make zero sense.
Just got bust your balls about the Prius thing.
I just had a rental EV for two weeks while traveling for work, between broken or offline EV chargers and then the few available being packed it was not a pleasant experience. Sure, it makes sense for people who can charge at home but for widespread adoption it's laughable with the current infrastructure. PHEV is definitely the way to go but the EV community is very anti PHEV and they are still very expensive for most people to afford.

Ford's allocation system stinks!!!! Seeing new orders from July and August already scheduled before orders over a year old stinks, also!
Bill have you checked with your dealer that you have a priority code 2?

If so it’s really likely you will see your XL scheduled on the next round (11/30).

If you don’t it’s time to get into the weeds with your dealer to figure out why. Being frustrated is completely understandable but involvement from the dealer is your best bet to either getting a build date or understanding why. I hear Ford really wants to clear up the rollovers this time with the two-month scheduling spree but if Ford doesn’t know your order is a rollover for one of a few possible reasons then it’s not going to help your situation.

It's a publicly traded company, their only obligation is to the shareholders. No offense but this is entitlement and clearly they don't need yours or anyone else's referral to sell a Maverick considering nobody can really get one.
I don't disagree at all that this is entitlement. People are used to how car buying used to be. The market has changed. Having said that, Ford is playing a dangerous game with customers. All of the car manufacturers are. One disgruntled potential customer is not a concern. A horde of disgruntled potential customers is. Car manufacturers have found a model where they can make the most profit selling fewer cars. People are angry. It is catching up with the manufacturers. Stellantis is having trouble selling anything. Ford F-150s are piling up at dealerships because Ford can't move them. Floor planning is beginning to eat the dealerships' lunch. They can't afford to have these vehicles on their lots like they could in the past, because of much higher interest rates. Mavericks are moving like hot cakes because of their pricing compared to other inventory, but even that is slowing down. The order banks are still open! Nationwide, one can find more Mavericks on dealership lots, plus we are beginning to see the more of them offered without market adjustments. We also see rebates on the uptick in an effort to move inventory piling up at dealerships in general. We live in interesting times.

Why do you think the scheduling was cancelled? Be nice to know.
Because we had 132 previewing on Wednesday and Thursday and they didn't schedule. So on Friday I emailed the Brand Manager and they told me they canceled scheduling this week and the next scheduling would happen on Thursday, November 30th.

Just a Question...
(maybe I should post this as it's own thread)

If the "Automakers" still made ALL of their own parts, would there be any "Supply Issues" ?? 🤔

Just my 2 cents...đź’ˇ

Probably and your Maverick would cost a lot more too, there's a lot of capital involved with being able to manufacture every single component of a vehicle.

I have contacted the dealer numerous times. He put it as priority 03 and says Ford has to change it to 02. I have contacted Ford and they say contact the dealer. The dealer has contacted the dealer rep numerous times. Nobody seems to have an answer.

I'm not going to Monday morning qb Jim Farley but I just don't think he's worried about a bunch of disgruntled potential Maverick owners.....if anyone here thinks they can do better, by all means, make your way up through the ranks at Ford and do so.

If you want to be upset with anyone, be upset with those who have ordered 3, 4, and even more 2024 Mavericks that I've seen just to try and game the system. All it does is give greedy dealers the ability to mark up and takes away from someone else actually getting their order. My father wanted a hybrid, I did my research and made sure to ask the right questions and ordered (1) 2024 for him and it's scheduled so don't tell me that it's necessary to order multiple Mavericks to get one.
Nova! You were lucky/fortunate with your Dads' order..I would bet even your dealer thinks so. In any case , you did good.

If your order stays a 3, it likely won’t be scheduled until after all the rollovers at your dealership have been. @fordvideoguy may know the right person or job title for your dealer to contact whether it’s their dealer rep or regional rep. He’s gone thru the process of moving an order to a lower priority code to allow for option changes then he contacts someone to ask for the order code to be moved back to a 2.

Order numbers and covp’s have to match. This will be important when it comes to your transitional private offer also.

Ford marketing gave me a certificate number and says my offer is approved. They know it is a rollover order. I have used Ford chat and phone calls until I am tired. I have tried everything I know to do. I filed a claim a few days ago and told them it should be priority 02. Ford said it might take up to 30 days to hear back.

It sounds like your dealer sucks or is playing games. Did Ford marketing confirm your priority is what the dealer is telling you?

Did you ask how many roll overs they have from 2023 and how many allocations they are getting per month?

Wait am I missing something? Is anyone really “lucky” to get a Prius?
One of the worst cars ever made.
Not sure how you're defining worst. You've obviously never owned one.
Bash the Prius if you wish, but everybody I know who owns one raves about not only the mileage, but the reliability over many many years/miles of ownership.

Would I buy one? No. I think Toyotas are too expensive, even though a lot of them are very reliable. But the Prius being "one of the worst cars ever made" is quite a stretch. And your willful ignorance is showing.

Yep my ignorance shows. I’ve just been into cars my whole life and own many and enjoy them. Maybe it’s the public schools that failed you. I think you read into that a bit. Hence even in my post it says they didn’t even try and make it look good. I was not referring to mechanically being the worst. I mean looks wise and owners. It’s like a cult. Like Harley rides. Absolutely nothing wrong with the mechanics of either.
But looks. Come on they didn’t even try and make the Prius look good. That’s why it’s so heavily joked about. Everywhere.
