No offense but this is entitlement and clearly they don't need yours or anyone else's referral to sell a Maverick considering nobody can really get one.
Call me old fashioned, but if I offer something for sale, I expect to fulfill my obligation even if I am not legally obliged to. My bigger point is that there are a lot of people who used to trust Ford that no longer do.

I'm not going to Monday morning qb Jim Farley but I just don't think he's worried about a bunch of disgruntled potential Maverick owners
My point exactly. I think this is extremely short sighted. Ford was making a huge inroad into a segment of the population who never thought about buying a pickup. Now, those folks are going to looking at the Santa Cruz, etc. Once Toyota, Nissan or Honda gets it figured out, Ford will lose that introductory path.

If you want to be upset with anyone, be upset with those who have ordered 3, 4, and even more 2024 Mavericks that I've seen just to try and game the system.
Yeah, I am not happy with those folks either. On the other hand, you seem to think it is ok for Ford not to act with their customers best interests in mind, why should the speculators be held to a higher standard? I ordered from a small local dealer because I believe in supporting my local businesses. I guess I should have tried to game the system myself.

It puzzles me why Ford doesn't schedule out the entire backlog. Would anyone be more frustrated that their build date is 6 months from now rather that not knowing if it will ever get built?
Didn't they try that for the MY22 and it backfired on them?
I am excited to get my truck and knew there would be a wait to get it. I could have bought many that were exactly what I wanted, used, for $5,000-$8,000 more, but I choose to wait because I am a tightwad. I got lucky with my Prius. Toyota doesn't allow orders, and the stealership I went to had one allocated to them that I liked and I bought it. Got it in a month when the stealer said 3-6. I am OK waiting on my Mav. For me, it just gets exciting whenever the e-mails are supposed to come out (and a bit of a letdown when I don't get one). If my car dies on me before I get my Mav, then I will decide what to do, but for now, Thank you Ford for not Marking up the price on all Mavs, even the ordered ones, by $10,000. Because people are out there that are willing to pay for it and that would definitely make their shareholders happy.

Supply chain. There are parts of it that might not simply be able to accurately predict parts availability that far out, especially those that ultimately rely on raw goods to produce.
Agree that hybrids are a problem because lithium supplies are tight. Most Ecoboost parts are shared with other models so they could schedule those at least.

The 2022 backfire happened by taking more orders than they could possibly build in a year.
I am also fine with waiting to get MSRP/X-plan.
Tom Petty got it right: "The waiting is the hardest part" may he rest in peace.

It's a publicly traded company, their only obligation is to the shareholders.

And they're not doing a very good job of that either!
You forgot make sure the government is happy. That’s number one based on all the push for ev’s nobody wants. Don’t build or invest in a truck like the maverick that they can’t build fast enough. Invest in ev that sit on lots.

Jim Farley is a complete moron. He can’t take a piss without getting it all over his shoes.

Wait am I missing something? Is anyone really “lucky” to get a Prius?
One of the worst cars ever made. They didn’t even try and make it look not stupid.

I don’t buy cars based on looks. I otherwise I wouldn’t be buying a maverick.

I don't see the point of bashing other people's car purchases but I actually think the 2023 Prius looks pretty great.

I don't think that a bike would allow me to drive 30,000 miles a year :) But trust me, 61.7MPGwill make an ugly car pretty.

No real offense meant. More like a ford Chevy thing. I actually think plug in hybrid is the most practical style. All electric cars make zero sense.
Just got bust your balls about the Prius thing.

If they didn't have an allocation system a few big dealers would get all of the cars and small, rural dealers would get none. They are allocated on sales so all dealers get a chance but does reward good performers (isn't that the way we do it in a capitalist economy).

There is no guarantee on instant, unlimited availability for anything that is sold. For example, Toyota says it can take 18 months to get a Toyota Camry hybrid. Several popular models have long waits. Get over it.

Right now there is no direct competition for the Maverick (Santa Cruz is not real competition). Soon there may be but that is the case for most vehicles. The F150 and Super Duty has direct competition but are still best sellers.

You and Bill came into an existing game plan and are upset it isn't going your way. You have no control over the rules so you have to play the game as is or take your ball and go home. BTW, it only took 3 months for me to get mine.
