Ford has more orders for the Maverick than they can produce so if some of those people move on it doesn't really hurt them short term. Long term people claim to be loyal to a brand but when you buy your next vehicle if there is a better alternative- features, price, looks, financing, availability- very few people actually stick with "their brand." Nor should they.
Brand loyalty still matters. I saw a study a while back that the bulk of Ram's customers are Ram customers. People hang Ford logos in their garages. So, you can't completely discount brand loyalty. Which is why I think Ford released the Maverick to begin with. Get it in the hands of younger people working their first jobs and you have a Ford customer for life.
But as you mention, that brand loyalty only goes so far. If Ram, etc. offers something that is superior, then people will jump to Ram, etc.
If I get my Maverick and am happy with it and go to replace my Infiniti I might consider Ford but if they don't have the appropriate vehicle it's a no go. Ford has eliminated so many models.
BTW I am supposed to be in production and my window sticker populated so Ford is right on schedule so far as I ordered an Ecoboost in September of 22. Now I just need to make sure I get the prices in place when I ordered it.

But what were the dividend for the last five years? The layout long term not short term. Payout is a lot more than a bank savings account.

FIFO doesn't work in a complex production process such as building a vehicle. Should they stop an entire production line because a sequential order can't get a part needed because a supplier is having problems getting parts? Or they can't get enough batteries to build hybrids? Why can't they build every vehicle ordered the day after it is ordered and delivered the next day?
that was the part that annoyed me most about tim’s last cast.
did I want a hybrid? Yes. Do I drive a lot to make mpg a huge factor? No. Do I off-road, camp, etc? Yes. I thought switching would reasonably get me scheduled. That was almost 3 months ago and I’m a prio 10 only tremor at my dealer. If I was going to have to wait sept-sept anyway, maybe I wanted to stay hybrid?
now they allow tremor stock orders to dealers when canceled tremors are listed for almost 8k over sticker. It’s just frustrating.
I understand we just need to be patient and wait and being scheduled this week or next really makes no difference but as others have said the difficultly is not being sure if we will be scheduled this year. I would have no issue if Ford said that I had a scheduled date in Aug. instead we have to wait till Thursday every week to be disappointed and need to wait for another week and they way it's going losing all faith I will get scheduled.
We are down to one car and managing ok but I think if I not scheduled soon may need to get something else. With the current Federal and CA state EV credits the Bolt looking tempting as could get $15,000 rebates at this point. I did look into one a few weeks ago and although they all sold out the dealer found and offered me one in a few days, It does not tick all the boxes however will save some money running costs and after rebates be much less to purchase.
I am not prepared to get a temp car and trade in when I am scheduled as most likely would depreciate and also with Registration and Sales Tax would take a large financial hit.
The other frustrating thing is my neighbor found a Maverick on the lot for over MSPR but its the same XL Hybrid in the same Atlas Blue color as I have ordered so every day I basically get to see my truck sitting across the road.
Possible with this forum and other post we just have too much information, last week it seemed set that Ford would schedule May this week being the first full week of March so in your mind you have the expectation and hope that you may find out you been scheduled but then when that taken away it hard to then have to wait again for another week.
I am very excited and devoted about the Maverick but with all the negative posts on the forum and the uncertainty of being able to get one the experience of finally purchasing a new vehicle is becoming jaded and possible not worth the stress.

I heard that they don't let you custom order also, but that won't be an issue. I will put my name on the list at the Toyota dealers that has MSRP and when I get called on, I will just say yes/no to the options.
To be fair, Ford said they would allow them in July. Maybe Ford is hinting they will be done with retail Tremors by then?
I have heard this a bunch of times, but is this an actual thing or am I a unicorn? I have put on an extra 215K miles on my 2009 Escape when I bought it in 2011 with 14k on it. I had 1 check engine light/warranty repair issue before the 3yr 36k was up, and nothing since. No check engine light still to this day, and have not had any real issues go wrong. I am not including wear and tear issues like suspension/brakes/tires etc, things that need to be replaced as they wear. Worst issue I have currently is that it will drip a drop of oil on garage floor here and there....but its got 225k on it...
Unless I am the unicorn I have never broken down on the side of the road with my Ford or had any significant issues go wrong. I am the only one here with that view?

It was a thing back in the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately, it is difficult to overcome the bad press, even when you corrected the problem. Anyone remember the LTD II? Had one that had a smog control device that literally exploded every year or so. It ran better and got better MPG without, so when it went out of warranty, it just didn't get fixed anymore.
I used to be a big fan of Dell computers. CS was in Texas, and generally speaking, the reps were competent (and spoke English, though with a Texan drawl
. They moved the CS to script reading, heavy accent speaking reps in India, and at the same time their quality went down. They killed the reputation of Alienware. I believe they moved the CS reps back to Texas, but I (and many others) moved on to other companies. This about the same time they had the TV fiasco, which didn't help their image either. I was fortunate in my job, we were able to obtain the direct number to elevated support team, and just by-passed the script readers. Not everyone had that option.I received my 2022 hybrid XLT Lux about 4 months ago, and I haven't had any problems with it other than the grabby brakes for which there is a software update that seems to fix it for most people. I did, just today sell it to CarVana for a modest ($5000) profit, but only because I re-acquired my old beater truck that I had given to my nephew in a time of need two years ago when I ordered the Mav. Don't need both, and no one is going to pay me for a 1989 Chevrolet S10. (It runs, but it is a beater truck).
