Don't trust these guys as far as you can throw them.

Thunk going from EV to ICE - they've not driven one yet then. Shouldn't happen.
I don't trust them, I know better, have 3/36 and if it gets louder I will be in there face,.

Ford Maverick New software update for 2025 Mavs? 1
Ford Maverick New software update for 2025 Mavs? 2

FWIW, here's what Perplexity.ai said about this update:

The new Power Control Module (PCM) update for the 2025 Ford Maverick hybrid system focuses primarily on backend improvements to diagnostics, system calibration, and reliability rather than adding user-facing features. The goals are to optimize the hybrid powertrain, improve battery and electronics management, and reduce the likelihood of issues previously reported in earlier models.

Key Improvements Delivered
  • Diagnostics and Error Detection: The update strengthens diagnostic capabilities, allowing the system to log and detect potential faults more accurately. This leads to better problem identification by technicians during service visits.
  • Smoother Hybrid Operation: Owners have reported slightly smoother engine performance and responsiveness (described as “more pep”), suggesting refined coordination between the gasoline engine and electric motor.
  • Intake Air Temperature Sensor Enhancement: Update notes mention improvements in how the module interacts with sensors, including the intake air temperature sensor, contributing to overall performance stability.
  • Resolution of Battery and Limp Mode Issues: Updates in 2025 have specifically targeted electrical bugs such as 12V battery drain and erroneous “remote features disabled to preserve battery” alerts on hybrids.
  • Increased Reliability: The PCM improvements help reduce occurrences of forced neutral conditions or limp mode that previously led to sudden loss of power or warning lights in affected hybrids.
No dramatic changes to acceleration, drive modes, or infotainment features are included, but the underlying enhancements are intended to make the system more stable and reliable for daily use.

Not so sure...I'd be curious what Perplexity.ai says is its source for that information. It will probably say its only source is this thread....in that case...

The new PT-25.11.0 update for Ford Maverick releases new features including auto healing tires, an optional disco-ball headlight effect, and autoplays "Ridin' Dirty" on external speakers when police siren and/or lights are detected.

But really though, I do actually notice a bit more pep after the update. I need to drive it more to confirm, so maybe Perplexity is right on that.

Solves the auto door lock non-problem. I don't have a clue, but my Mav is a 2024 xlt 2.0 so I may know come morning.
Okay so I checked and mine didn't update. But it was disconnected from the Wi-Fi in the garage. I reconnected it and maybe I will get the update in a day or two. And then, maybe not.😆😆

Yeah really, I've had Copilot regurgitate something back at me I typed on a forum not even 12 hours earlier.

I got to drive more after this update and there's a noticeable change.

The ICE engine seems to get called upon more when accelerating from a stop which would save more hybrid battery for maintaining desired speed rather than using it up during initial acceleration.

The result is more responsiveness, and I really like the update personally. No appreciable difference in gas mileage, although I would happily give up a few mpg for this improvement. Kudos Ford.

I think you just need to ensure you allow auto updates on your info screen - I got the notification but haven‘t interacted with my Maverick since being notified

Got the update overnight with the same message others got this morning. Miles to Empty was unusually low but that will likely recalibrate after a tank or two. Didn't drive much yet but didn't notice much change over the few miles I did, IOW - still running great. Still hear a slight chatter, mainly near transition point of hybrid/electric mode at low speeds so no change there, otherwise no complaints.

Mine does that too, and it hasn't got the update. All summer I could drive out of my neighborhood without the engine starting, but this week it's starting shortly after I leave my driveway.

My guess is that it's due to the cooler Fall weather and the battery needs to warm up before operating normally.

PS: 2025 Lariat hybrid with 4k tow: no clunks or thuds to report on my end, and nothing like what's described in this thread

Well, It's been two days now since the update and my fuel efficiency seems to have dramatically improved. Is this possible or just a co-incidence. I guess time will tell!

For those of you in the land of nonsensical measurements, that's 60.3mpg. The drive was from Spruce Grove Alberta to Edmonton and a bit into the city so say 70% highway driving.

At 1am tonight the software will upgrade on my 2025 XL. Does anyone know what this includes?
These are the modules involved in the updated (on my 25 XLT hybrid): ABS, BECM (battery energy control module), PCM, & SOBDMC (secondary on-board diagnostic control module c).

Before the update when I fill up it is 560 to empty, today after I filled up it was 371 to empty.
My 25 AWD Hybrid updated last night and I distinctly remember my miles until empty being 241 and with about 1/3 tank left. After the update before I even backed out of the garage my miles until empty was reading 141 while still showing 1/3 of a tank. Hopefully this will recalibrate like others have mentioned. I drove in town to the store and back and really didn't notice anything different performance wise but I drive pretty easy so maybe I'll need to check again:)
