Sigh, so I haven't even gotten my broken door spot welds fixed, went to open the hood to add washer fluid and see BUBBLING PAINT at the front edge -- NO, it's not a paint chip that is spreading, it starts on the BACKSIDE of the hood and works around to the front/top...Very frustrating as I only have 22k miles but now at 3 years and 8 months it's not covered. I recommend EVERYONE check their hood BEFORE END OF 3/36!! (yes, I wash my truck regularly, due to Michigan salt and bird crap)

2022 Alto Blue - have the factory PPF, which has helped with chips...But not this...Hoods bubbling is not an uncommon thing on Fords with aluminum hoods - I just want people to be aware and catch it BEFORE warranty is up...

GOOD NEWS -- contacted body shop and found Ford will cover under 5 year corrosion warranty, so I can get do when do the door repair...Still want people to be aware and watch for this concern, though...

I remember back in May. Someone
with the same problem? It on TOP at the back of their hood. I wonder if it has anything to do with the hood being aluminum? They posted pictures which helped.
As you said Jeff. It isn't an uncommon problem. It is great to know about the 5 year corrosion warranty thank you.
Below is a post from the thread.
Ford aluminum hoods have have issues with corrosion since they started. It's been a problem during the stamping of the hoods with metal particles not being leaned off properly. Dissimilar metals corrode.
Many have been replaced during the warranty period.

Is there a chance it is environmental? I see you live in a state that likely uses a ton of salt on the roads during the winter.

Hmmm🤔
Seems to me we had somebody else back in May with the same problem? It was at the back edge of their Hood. I wonder if it has anything to do with the hood being aluminum? They posted pictures which helped.

Here is a post from the thread.
Back of the hood could be caused by scraping the paint off the rear edge, maybe from opening the hood with the wipers up?

Ask me how I know this ... 🤣

Can you show a Pic? Our maverick is also a 3 year old michigan truck. We wash it once or twice a year.

When Massachusetts went to aluminum plates years ago, they had to replace all of them the first year cause the paint did not stick. You'd have thought they'd have learned a lot about painting on aluminum since then.

I should be kicked off of this site. I haven't looked at my Maverick's paint for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Or the plastic. Or the trim. Or anything else for that matter. I just get in, turn the key, go, come back, get out.

I am clearly not qualified to be a member here.
