Paint is a problem! I always keep my vehicles for like 15 years or more but my alto blue xlt is 9 months old with 20,000 miles most ive ever put on any car in such a short time, love the truck zero issues except for the paint it does chip super easy. Im a clean freak I did ceramic coating and like 3 wax jobs and still?? On the alto they show up as white chips, paint seems super thin.

Should we be requesting our dealers to not wash or polish/ detail the truck when they arrive? (In terms of wanting it to cure more)

Sorry to hear you have a paint chip already. I am interested how the Alto Blue looks after the ceramic coating. Does the paint have depth and changes colors with different angles? Is it worth the $400? I have searched for images of the paint, but nothing compares to actually seeing it with your own eyes.

My Lariat has only 900 miles on it. Noticed the first chip on the hood edge around 300 miles. Then noticed the chips on the roof. There are 20 roof chips. The only thing I can think that may have caused the damage is running it through a brushless car wash. Nothing has been put on the roof of the vehicle. More chips appeared again after going through the brushless car wash. None of these chips are due to normal wear and tear or rock chips. Is anyone else experiencing this sort of problem? I put in a complaint to the company after the dealer said it was denied under warranty. I don't know what will come of it. If anyone else run into a issue with paint chipping, submit a complaint to the company. Otherwise they won't have any information to act upon for future claims.

Noticed my first chips at about 1,000 miles-seeeminghly appeared from nowhere. Certainly no contact with other items. The paint on Mav's is about as thin as any vehicle I've owned. Still love it and I figure what do you want for sub $30K??

Agreed same color, ceramic coated as well. Paint is definitely super thin. 🤷🏽‍♂️. Other vehicles paint didn’t chip so easy that’s for sure.

Well, here is another thread with "thin paint" complaints. While I have not had my Maverick long enough to tell if it chips worse or less than other vehicles. Being towed behind a motorhome WILL prove that true or false.
I took my paint meter to my Maverick. Averaging in the 4.5-4.9 MIL range. That is actually thicker than I expected. Certainly not what I would call "thin" paint.

Man I got a paint chip on bumper of 24 within 2 months. Today one near driver side wheel we'll. Called Ford and filed a complaint. Now will do the next complaint.

Had a Bronco II with no issues, sold it 110k where person marveled how good the paint was.
