Pressure is relative. In the EB, the pressure is vented into an evaporative canister, which condenses the volatile hydrocarbon fumes and sends it back to the gas tank as liquid gasoline. That system is still venting the pressurized air from the gas tank, and that air still contains small amounts of hydrocarbons, even though the majority has been condensed out.

On the flip side, manufacturers that make hybrids want to get all of the legal and tax benefits of making vehicles with the partial zero emissions designation. To get that status, your vehicle has to operate part of the time without the gasoline engine running and have ZERO evaporative emissions. The way to achieve that is by having a sealed gas tank that never vents to the atmosphere, except when refilling.

In the Prius, they use a rubber bladder inside of the gas tank, like a big water balloon, that has no air gap in the bladder, which means no evaporative losses.

In the Maverick, they skipped the expensive rubber bladder and went with a still expensive reinforced gas tank and filler mechanism that doesn’t leak fumes and won’t deform or rupture under pressure. The reinforced gas tank is still more expensive than the EB tank and it’s not needed to meet the less stringent base-line “low emission vehicle” standards that the EB has to meet.

Shit, I remember when things were simple. I once got an abandoned car home by putting a gallon jug on the roof with a hose to the carb.

Hybrids have a pressurized gas tank, so they require a locking gas door to function. Ecoboosts don't, so they don't have a locking gas door to save money.
Yep the battery is so small they have to cut things like electric fuel pumps. The very first Prius had a pressurized bladder tank.
If It was down to a 1/4 tank you could fill it. I think it was 10 gallons total.
If you tried to top it off at a half a tank you'd only be able to get one or two gallons in. Nothing you could do. Then you drive off with 2/3'ds of a tank.

The Ecoboost with It's very Ample Engine It can power everything and not loose mpg's. Hence a fuel tank.

Interesting.. I didn't know that. Rats... now I have something else to research and learn... Why the fuel delivery of the hybrid requires pressurized fuel storage, and conversely why it was decided the Ecoboost wouldn't benefit from the same work (or to the extent that it wasnt' worth the extra spend).
There are a few reasons,
Example:
The battery is so small they have to cut things like electric fuel pumps. The very first Prius had a pressurized bladder tank.

Dang, I thought that was the shower button.
not necessary; the jellyfish magazine is full of of seawater, keeping them clean.

10 years later when me and the Mav are old, I'll be running across these little helpers and I'll need them and I'll have NO idea what in the he'll they're for.
No problen; the jellyfish will be glad to explain!

I *really* want to go on a redneck engineering tour of Cuba's old american cars . . . the things they've done to keep them on the road can be amazing.

A couple of years ago, a friend with a 1970 Cadillac convertible was having overheating problems (directly linked to having had the 472 "built", and also bored to 500, all poorly). And it was a 4th of July pared, in Las Vegas.

He got someone to repurpose the windshield fluid pump, so that it pumped water from a jug onto the radiator, and got through just fine!

bonus historical tidbit: 100 years ago, even Cadillac had a pump on the dash to pressurized the fuel pump to a couple of psi to get the the car started, after which the engine did the job. (there was another knob to pull to squirt a bit of fuel into the cylinders, too).

Ford didn't do this; instead they conveniently put the fuel tank right under your nose under the engine cover and used gravity feed)

The high pressure isn't for fuel delivery - hybrid has a fuel pump.

If you pull it what would happen? Maybe something bad, maybe something good. You'll never find out unless you pull it.
That's what he said.

The window of opportunity to go to Cuba was narrow. Obama lifted travel restrictions in April 2016. Trump reimposed travel restrictions in Nov. 2019.

Almost none of these cars have American engines or transmissions, as replacement parts are embargoed. Most of them are cobbled together with bondo, duct tape and baling wire and powered by either Chinese or Russian made diesel engines.

Around here, in the Chicago 'burbs there's all kinds of car shows in the summertime where you'll find all sorts of backyard modifications.

Notice it has a clip? You can hide much of the cord and clip it to the plastic molding to get it out of the way (mostly).

It was an interesting decision on Ford's part to include a locking gas cover on the Hybrid, but not on the EcoBoost. Maybe it just simply came down to buyers of the Hybrid demanding "No one is stealing my gas", so as to alter their mpg results?
From the company that gives us 2 different physical button options to control radio volume, but no physical button to control the AC, and also decided having to press "OK" so many times just to drive the truck was OK??

If that 'okay button wears out we are screwed.
