But I don’t have one on my 24 Eco, hmmm… wonder why? 🤣
It was an interesting decision on Ford's part to include a locking gas cover on the Hybrid, but not on the EcoBoost. Maybe it just simply came down to buyers of the Hybrid demanding "No one is stealing my gas", so as to alter their mpg results?

You EcoBoost owners, have have to fill your tanks a lot more than us Hybrid owners.
Ford decided not to hassle you with having to unlock your fuel door so often. 😁😁

Yes, I know Maverick Hybrid fuel tanks are pressurized same as my old Chevy Volt's

Hybrids have a pressurized gas tank, so they require a locking gas door to function. Ecoboosts don't, so they don't have a locking gas door to save money.

Hybrids get a pressurized fuel tank to preserve fuel quality due to their increased efficiency/slower fuel consumption. The electronic release ensures that the pressure is released before the fuel door opens. It's less of a lock 🔒 and more of an automatic depressurization. EB has no such concerns.

You should snip it off just in case, and then see if the manual mentions anything.

Hmmm, I think that's the right order.
