Does no one stand at the pump anymore to hear the sound of the gas flowing?
I guess as many as I see getting back in vehicle to look at phone - maybe not.

I know we aren't the only state without a requirement for big vent covers perhaps muffling that sound.

There can be a big difference between 2 clicks with a 15-20 sec pause between, and topping it off.
Always a false narrative in those beneficial warning stories and interpretation going to a 2nd click.

And with listening I can easily tell if the nozzle sensor is a tad off. Or not.
Because if the volume is off from where I expect it to be and no actual sounds of full - I'm going past 2 clicks.

But ya - if you are distracted and not paying attention - then go for the 1 click. Better to be distracted there then on the road! (who am I kidding, changes nothing on the road)
I filled up all the cars at the last dealership I worked at. I can still hear that filling up sound as it comes up the filler neck 😅
Here in Nevada we got these 👇 you aren't hearing anything.

In Utah we still have the unsheathed nozzles where you can still hear the fluid coming up the filler neck.

Years ago a gas attendant was filling my car, trying to get it to an even dollar. He kept clicking it on until it was flowing out the filler hole. I said "why don't you just pour it on the ground?" He said "Why would I do that?" I said "That is exactly what your are doing, running it down the side of my car."

Also a lack of parenting is part of the problem nowadays. Watching people parent now is like watching someone yell at their untrained dog and expecting results 😳
I see it as. Gen X did not like the way that their Boomer parents raise them. Therefore they're going to try a different method with their kids.
Gen X are currently 44-59 years old, so they're pretty much done raising their kids. If someone complains about how people are currently parenting, they would more likely be referring to Millennials, who are now 28-43 years old.

It’s always the pumps fault when it clicks off early. The local Costco had several pumps that would click off early in response to any other pump clicking off.

Guess what the average age of tweakers /drug users nowadays.
The average age of a methamphetamine user (commonly called a tweaker) generally falls between 26 and 42 years old, reflecting a significant aging trend in recent decades where the median age of users has risen considerably. Government data and public health studies show that usage is heavily concentrated among mid-to-older adults rather than just teenagers or college students.

At least the younger ones were raised by Gen x. My niece is a gen x and she's got a 30 year old son.

And it all wraps up to the guy who stole the car in Saudi Arabia that was in the video. He certainly didn't look like a 15-year-old.

Glen, I think you might be confusing me with Tbone91. Your reply was a direct reply to Tbone91's " Also a lack of parenting is part of the problem nowadays. "

I was simply pointing out that Millennials are those who are parenting nowadays, not Gen X.

My point was that Millennials are those who are parenting nowadays, not Gen X.
Oops sorry. I'll edit.
I wholeheartedly agree about parenting nowadays too.
I see two extremes when I'm out at a store.
Either they don't do anything and they let the kid scream.
Or
I've seen them beat the kid in the parking lot to where I wanted to step in.

After the pump clicks off, I'll just blip it again to get it to the nearest 0 or 5 ending (.25, .40, .85, etc). So usually I end up putting like a couple cents extra in. Good enough for me.

Still remains, when you're looking at drug addicts whose age range between 26 and 43 years old and the age is climbing. That tells me that they were raised by Generation X includes people born from 1965 to 1980, following the Baby Boomers and preceding the Millennials. [1, 2]
Who were raised by boomers
That's a bit of a misconception though, because the older members of a generation aren't typically raised by the prior generation. In many cases, older Gen X like myself and many of my peers were raised by The Silent Generation, just as many older Millennials were raised by Boomers. It's not a likely case that people currently 43 years old were raised by Gen X. Not as likely as being raised by Boomers...
