Same instructions...it is just different how you get to accessory mode in an XL or XLT than a Lariat. With push button, if you don't step on the brake, the button puts you into Accessory mode. If you do step on the brake while pushing the button, then the truck is fully started. No other situations but off. With a key, I think there are more positions to consider. I don't know if that's the issue...but the problem seems to only be reported (so far) by folks with trucks that take keys.I'm an XL with a Key start.
Well I believe my problem has been resolved. I have towed successfully on round trips three times! It truly was the wiring and installing an aftermarket brake light switch on the Maverick. I wish I could tell you more but it comes right of Neutral Tow mode without a problem.
Hi Kyle,
To clarify, is it because you did not have brake relay switch taking power from motorhome tail lite signal?
That is the way I wired it using Roadmaster/Etrailer guidance. Havent towed it yet.
Do you use diodes and your truck lights or a separately mounted brake light? RM implied the problem was a relay installed on the brake pedal wiring. Did you put diode wiring system for rear lights?Watching. Demco baseplates and RVi 2 brake system.
Happened to us twice on our current trip. We go for 6 months at a time so this might get interesting.
fixed twice by disconnecting negative cable for 10 minutes. Hope there is a known fix soon.
yep. Diodes installed. Relay might be the issue. Has anyone confirmed it resolves the issue?Did you put diode wiring system for rear lights?
If so, did you install brake light relay switch under dash?
I think problem may be lack of braje light relay.
How are you equipped?
I have diodes directly wired inside the tail lights from the 6-pin connector). NO problems. I also use a simple old BrakeBuddy for supplemental braking.I am very interested also. ‘24 Lariat with Invisibrake. I did NOT install the relay after reading this thread. Only done a short test toad’ing so very interested to hear if the relay does indeed seem to be related to there neutral tow issues.

I think it is electrical feedback into the PCM due to no brake relay switch. Disconnecting the battery resets the module.yep. Diodes installed. Relay might be the issue. Has anyone confirmed it resolves the issue?
I am setting up my 2023 Maverick XLT for flat towing as I type. The Brake-Lite Relay from Roadmaster has two sets of instructions. The technician from eTrailer.com indicated that the Mav requires using the "Instruction Sheet B". Other than that, is there anything else required that you were made aware of in your experience?
