Do you use diodes and your truck lights or a separately mounted brake light? RM implied the problem was a relay installed on the brake pedal wiring. (I don't have one)
Sorry to read you're in our club (failure to leave NT properly). My dealer supposedly uldated the main computer and reset the ICP. He communicated with the Ford guys at corporate. I'm not optimistic. Really, i think it is the same fix 2 othet dealers used on the truck. I tried shifting...
I had multiple failures to come out of Neutral Tow properly on our last trip. I posted here for help. I am assuming since your selector was blinking in the "P" mode - it had power. Try disconnecting your battery under the rear seat for 10 minutes next time. That reset my Instrument Control...
Look at the businesses around the accident scene. Ask if they have video surveillance and see if their video supports your claim. My acquaintance had to do that. Bank had the video of his accident. Good luck.
Wow, that is some good info. I have a Brakebuddy2. I had one incident which I believe the BB caused the brakes to drag. Fortunately I caught it early with no damage. I have 3 or 5 levels to choose for response. I believe my incident occured because I didn't run the test feature after an...
Cool! I just got off the phone with him. Great guy to chat with! Good luck and hope it fixes your issue. It can't be the issue on mine as I had no relay! Goofy.
Important update: After reading a reading a post regarding a relay, I called Roadmaster Tech support. Here is what I learned:
-a relay (part# 88400) was supposed to be installed in the brake pedal area to a purple/white wire. It's purpose was to prevent the power from overrunning the diodes...
Amen to that! I had a buddy weld his wedding band to his finger checking his oil. The dip stick drooped across the positive terminal with his wedding ring providing a ground. Another reason to ditch jewelry when working on vehicles.
Glad to read your trip was uneventful. I removed the positive terminal but should try the negative side now that you mentioned it. Less chance of arcing with metal tools. 😉
Thank you to all who have contributed recommendations to solve my problem. I made it back home yesterday after 2 months on the road. Now fails to properly come out of NT after every tow (6 or 7 tmes now). Talked to a great technician (solved my deep sleep issue) at the dealership and he is...
Odd as my my owners manual doesn't look like this. Basically, turn switch on, bring up menu, go to NT, hold button down to engage, shift to neutral, turn key off.
XLT. Trailer hitch, CP360. I hope you don't experience this issue. It sucked trying to find dealers while on the trip until I tried pulling the battery connection for 10 minutes.
I don't have FORSCAN but will buy it if it will reset the IPC. So tired of this!
As luck would have it, the truck failed to come out NT last night after stopping in Bristol, TN and today at our campground South of Knoxville. Removing the battery positive cable for 10 minutes resets...
Well crap. Had to secure the truck and NT failure strikes again. Hope the battery disconnect trick works again. Blankety blankety blanking NT! Yes! Battery disconnect worked.
Roadmaster is recommending changes? I installed mine and followed the install correctly (so I think-lol) I have 4 diodes for the lights installed with the wiring run to the back where the lights are. An inline battery charger is under the hood tapped into the battery lug. Wiring for my...
