I towed for the first time yesterday. I have a 23 XLT hybrid with the ford co pilot 360 package. I towed my trailer with a 60inch cut cub cadet. Total weight was 1800 pounds. I did select the tow haul mode for the drive. Gas mileage for my 40 mile round trip was 22.8 MPG. The screen show several messages as I drove. I didn't get to read them all as I needed to keep my eyes on the road. The blind spot warning system shut off on me at some point. This almost caused me to get in a accident in construction on our local bypass.
I don't know if the safety features shut off because of the towing and tow haul drive selection? If anyone has any experience with this please let me know.
Other wise I love the truck average 45MPG normally and I do have it equipped and setup for flat towing behind my Motorhome.

I have a 22MY XLT equipped with the 4K tow package and CP360. The disabling of the BSM system is normal when a trailer is attached using either the 4 pin connector or the 7 pin. The vehicle gives a warning message at start up that the BSM is disabled.

BSM is not disabled when just selecting the tow/haul drive mode. BSM is only disabled when a connection is made on either the 4 pin or 7 pin connector. If BSM was disabled mid route then your trailer has a grounding issue that you might want to look into.

Lower MPG is to be expected when towing.

Thank you, I was unaware of the BSM going off when you plug in the trailer. I thank you for that information. I guess it's not too much of a big deal if you know it is going to happen.
Yes the MPG wasn't bad for towing that weight. My GMC averages 16 MPG normally and a less when towing.
