Glad you are ok. I like the green but could not handle it with a blue interior. Velocity blue was my first choice and got lucky with what I was able to purchase.
I had the BAP on the green truck so the black interior worked well with it.

I have the BAP on my 2025 as well, but the plastic dash, door panels, and console stuff is still blue. I would be ok with a white exterior color or the blue I got. Even tan panels would be ok with more exterior color than the blue, but they didn't consult me before making those decisions lol.

Yeah, the interior colors are pretty wonky.

Everyone is gonna hate me now.

NBMAV, you are partially at fault for the accident. All I know is what you wrote. Based on that:

“He manages to come to a stop (I think) in the middle lane facing me at a 45 degree angle and as I'm slowing I'm thinking I'll manage to get by him as there is no way to stop in time.”
No hate from me, but I wouldn't say he was so much at fault, but that the failure was to drive defensively.
At the first sign of trouble ahead, especially in slippery conditions, and with a driver who has already shown that he's a complete moron, the defensive move is to slow down and move over so there's some distance. The error is in expecting an idiot to do something tight, and that isn't a safe bet.

Here's some examples where people didn't do very well...

The only reason I think he stopped is that I have video that shows that's what it looked like. I was maybe going 45-50 in a 70 which was fine for conditions (lived in MA & NH for over 20 years so I know how to drive in snowy conditions). I also did not see the accident from a ways back, again that only showed up on video with some squinting. By the time I came around the bend where I could see him he was already driving into my lane right at me. In that situation it doesn't matter if it was wet or dry, I had no where to go.
Did you have a dash cam?

First off, I'm glad that you made it through the accident without any injuries to yourself. To that end the Maverick did its job. Sadly, Eruption Green was a one year color. 🙁
I don't understand how people can drive without insurance the lawmakers said said it's illegal therefore it should never happen.🤣
The state trooper may have screwed up. Then again she may not have smelled alcohol herself.
OR
Krispy Kreme turned on their HOT& FRESH Sign.
I don't know where folks get the assumption they can tell law enforcement what to do to another person.
Even if she did smell alcohol. Washington has no Law forcing a field sobriety test or as I call it an Agility Test. At 70, I'm not too freaking agile.😂 Then again, I don't drink.

You can legally refuse voluntary field sobriety tests (FSTs) in Washington State, as they are not mandatory. However, refusal can be used against you in court to show "consciousness of guilt," and it will not prevent your arrest if the officer has other evidence of impairment.
  1. Nearly Half of Sober People “Fail” Field Sobriety Tests. A major study found that 46% of completely sober individuals were judged “too drunk to drive” when performing field sobriety tests — highlighting the high false-positive rate.
Glen....Here in San Antonio, Texas, I'd bet that every 7 in 10 cars has NO insurance. It's not just lazy people....it's the INSANE rise in price making people take that chance. And, of course...no insurance means they can't pay the yearly registration either. System won't let them get a sticker without the vehicle being insured. It is becoming an epidemic around here. :crying: :crying: :crying:

Which is the chicken and which is the egg? Non-insured drivers drive up the cost.

A couple weeks ago we had our first and only snow event this year and I was driving home on I90 in the left lane with other traffic when this guy in a Honda Odyssey blows past in the right lane doing at least 20 mph faster than everyone else. The snow is coming down and there are slushy patches on the road but they are relatively clear but the temp is about 35F.

I go around a long bend and can just see something happening up ahead. The guy lost control and came spinning across the highway and I think he bounced off one of the guard rails. He manages to come to a stop (I think) in the middle lane facing me at a 45 degree angle and as I'm slowing I'm thinking I'll manage to get by him as there is no way to stop in time. The dufus then decides it is a good idea to try and attempt to turn around to go forward by driving into my lane and right into me. Turned this into my first ever air bag deployment incident with the steering wheel, knee, and right side curtain bags deploying and destroying my right front corner.

Not only was this guy driving in an unsafe manner in a snow storm but as it turns out he had no insurance (illegal in WA) and he was driving on a suspended license and had enough of an alcohol smell on his breath that I could smell it from a few feet away. For some reason the trooper let him go, she did say she ticketed him for the lack of insurance at least.

Luckily I ended up with just one little scratch. My insurance company ended up totaling it (damage was worse than it looks in the pic) and I didn't even know that they would replace if less than one year old as part of my general collision policy so no depreciation or additional tax & tags. I'm bummed I couldn't find any left over Eruption Green Hybrid Lariat's anywhere so ended up driving to a dealer 250 miles away and picked up a '26 Velocity Blue one as I couldn't find anything I liked closer!

How does this driver not get ticketed for reckless driving & not held responsible for damages?

Glad you're okay and the result of the accident was only a truck color change and an insurance cost increase in the area.
In bad weather, conditions are only as safe as the other drivers on the road with you.

Many decades of riding motorcycles on interstates have taught me to assume that other drivers are idiots who will do incredibly stupid things, and the moron who caused the accident you were in shouldn't be allowed on the road, but that experience likely taught them there are no consequences. Who needs a license or insurance if it isn't enforced? Not the guy who hit you.

If someone drinks and drives, doesn't have insurance, and has a suspended license the driver gets a shiny new set of bracelets and a free hotel room with bars and their car would be impounded in Arizona.
Poor law enforcement has consequences.
The guy who got away was free to cause more grief. That's the sad part of the story.
