Ford Maverick 2025 Lariat bites a deer IMG_4263

Hit a medium sized deer at ~50mph. Radiator and condenser both let go. Funnily enough, no check engines lights or sensor warnings came on. Truck still ran and drove onto the tow truck.

No human injuries.

I’m guessing that I’m realistically expecting a 6 month timeline for the repair, given the parts shortages.

Oh deer............... Sorry for your loss. My 22 EB is just part of the family now. Good luck with repairs and your insurance!!

I suspect a medium size deer in MA equals what we would call a large deer in GA.....

Wow. That’s a bucket of suck.
Sorry that happened to you.
Glad you are all right, though.

AT’s why pay extra for rental car insurance.

Yep, learned how useful it was a few years ago when my CRV slid on ice.

Ouch, so sorry about your luck. Good reminder for me to not be pissed about the 2 scuffs on my bumper from my deer strike last fall.

Oooh that sucks 😕

If this was mine I'd be checking to replace the Lariat grill with an XLT grill, which looks WAY better IMO

My USAA rental car insurance maxes out at 50 days.

That doesn't look too bad for a deer hit, though it still sucks.

I think mine maxes at 30 days, I have a 2004 Escape with 225,900 miles.
Runs well. It's my winter beater.

That stinks, glad you're OK. Did you keep the deer? Serves it right for running out in front of you!

David, I like your avatar showing what looks to be the GadCad amber lens. Did you do the wiring for the lighting as well? [I did the same lens and wiring on mine but not the badges. I wanted an OEM look]

How big is a medium sized deer out there? Last deer I hit was a 250lb 8 point buck which is about medium sized for Wisconsin corn fed deer. Hit at about 50mph. Sport Trac took it like a champ. Drove it home and for a few weeks until it went into the shop. Primary mechanicals were undamaged.

My condolences. Did the airbags deploy?
