Absolutely every time I start the truck, the first thing I do is hit the Auto StartStop button. Hate the lag. Very annoying.

I just noticed that the truck has permanently disabled it and I no longer have to hit the button. It just never comes on. Everything else works perfectly so wondering if my truck “ learned” I never use it ?

I also see this icon on the dash. Not sure if it’s always been there or what but it’s AutoStart/Stop crossed out.

No, are you in cold weather? Do you drive it alot? Mine does that too. Because you're battery is low on volts. I'm in cold area and I don't drive much. 4k a year. So I put it on the battery maintainer every week. It keeps your battery charged. The start and stop will only work if there is enough volts available.

If you check your manual, there is a list of certain items that prevent the ASS from working. Its like a dozen or so things or at least it is on my fusion. Some of them are relatively easy to always leave on so it doesn't activate.

I think the maverick is different. They sell a plug for the maverick to disable it. I think they sell it for a reason? I could be wrong.

I'm guessing the reason is $99 for a pass thru connector with a resistor in it.

The system does not stop the engine if: • The driver door is open. • Your vehicle is at high altitude. • The heated windshield is on. • The engine is warming up. • The outside temperature is too low or too high. • The battery charge is low. • The battery temperature is outside the optimal operating range. • The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging.

I wonder what temp is considered too high for ASS to turn off
I know my F150 would turn off when it was 95+

People sure have strong opinions on this, I've never had an issue with it. I don't even feel it, unlike BMW's which tend to shudder.

I think if ambient temp is below 50 it wont work. You need heat on

Dude! It's the "lag"!
You know the .1 second lag when you release the brake and touch the gas?
Kills your 60 ft time in rush hour.

These guys are hard core.
They wear driving gloves and have "I'm not tailgating, I'm drafting" bumper stickers.

We will never understand.
