People sure have strong opinions on this, I've never had an issue with it. I don't even feel it, unlike BMW's which tend to shudder.

I agree.

I sit at drawbridges and very long traffic light pretty much every day, so I don't mind the vehicle shutting itself off while I'm waiting. All I have to do is give the steering wheel a gentle nudge when I see the light is about to change, and the truck starts right up.

The only time I find the feature unhelpful is when I'm in very slow stop and go traffic. At those times, I just use the button to disable the feature.

It just sucks. Must be hard on the batt if they have to turn it off in cold temps. Very annoying, constantly on/off in traffic and at lights and stop signs.

A much better option would be that you could turn it on when wanted. You know, like freedom of choice.

There are rare occasions in very heavy stop-and-go when you sit for longer periods where I might use it

OP. Get ready for the ”deep sleep” to start showing up! Then your remote start won’t work and some other stuff. You will then have to start putting a charger on it once a week to keep the battery up to par. AND, the dealer will test it and find nothing wrong! I’m waiting for Ford to admit something is wrong and find a fix.
But it’s been 4 months so don’t get in a hurry. Also, might want to get a portable jumper so you won’t have to worry about it leaving you stranded.

Absolutely every time I start the truck, the first thing I do is hit the Auto StartStop button. Hate the lag. Very annoying.

I just noticed that the truck has permanently disabled it and I no longer have to hit the button. It just never comes on. Everything else works perfectly so wondering if my truck “ learned” I never use it ?

I also see this icon on the dash. Not sure if it’s always been there or what but it’s AutoStart/Stop crossed out.

It sounds like it is broke.......you ought to go to your dealer and have a warranty repair. :ROFLMAO:

Or, and get this, it could just be winter. In Canada. And the temperature sensors are doing their job.

Could be that your battery was part of the batch of batteries that weren't well made. I had the same issues and a new battery fixed it.

On the 6.5 inch screens, there's an option to enable a screen that shows you why it's not turning off. If it constantly says "Engine on battery charging" and you drive it a lot, it might be the battery.
