My wife's Subaru got hit with hail a few years back. They screwed up a lot of the interior to get to the panels.

Had the same thing happen with a Kia a few years ago in Okla.

I have used PDR with great results. Be sure there is no "oil canning" anywhere they fixed. It is rare that a good PDR guy would not fix that but you never know when he might have a bad day. I had to have my PDR guy rework one area he did not get right. Not a big deal but your inspection will need to be really good.

On the other hand you can leave all the dimples in your truck and name your truck "golf ball" and enjoy the improved aerodynamics.

He told me it happens a lot and the customers never know. I think he was trying to gain my trust by telling me asap.

Bought a used Caddy once and noticed it had quite a few small hail dents. Dealer had them all fixed, and you cannot tell they were there

weird... there was a reply with a video of a carbonized grey maverick getting hailed on. I was going to comment on it but it's gone... at any rate, I'd check the hood and roof very carefully but it could be fine after what looked like less than pea-sized hail.

whatever is under the car cover (old Charger?) probably is fine. steel is real

Don't move to Tennessee then, I once had $60,000 in hail damage between two vehicles and my home.

My son had a brand new (so was not totaled) KIA several years ago in Keller Texas which had $14,400 hail damage! Was brand new and parts were scarce the last available roof had to be shipped to SC where he had moved to (go figure??). Then when they took roof off to replace the dents were so big the under roof supports also had to be replaced. When it was ready to paint COVID hit and that added several months. Body shop furnished rental car for several months even after KIA had to be repainted since first try had quality problem after primer had "aged" or otherwise damaged.

Oil canning is where when you push on the dent that it pops back into the metal and if you push it back it goes back. Like oil cans when they used to exist.

Yes, they can get really bad. My wife's car also had to have the roof cut off and replaced in that storm. Fortunately, no one got hurt that night.
Tennessee may not get the large number of F4 monsters you see in Texas, Oklahoma, or Kansas, but we are bit unique in that tornadoes here aren't seasonal and we get almost half of them at night - home of the nocturnal tornadoes.
