Yes, I follow him also. I believe he had to get a new transmission at 80000 miles. He has the EcoBoost, and only showed minor wear on the driver seat. Apparently, this guy drives all over the place. I still can't figure how someone could clock 80000 miles in over a years worth of driving. It bogles the mind.
I know right, I’d say he’s pretty much driving all over the country just about constantly. I like his videos because he is clear enough to understand what he’s trying to get across without any additional silliness
I don’t think the seats and the material used will wear out anytime soon from what I can tell from my Maverick. I personally don’t like the polyester material so I’m seriously thinking of re-covering them using leatherseats.com

At this time, I the leatherette or premium vinyl on the Maverick seems ok for now. I have not had good leather seats in a long time. My wife has a 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk (same Synthethic seats as my Maverick), Toyota calls the synthetic seats soft tex. Time will tell whether they are any better than actual the leather seats. I don't like cloth seats because it is difficult to get the stains out and take forever to dry after cleaning.

I found that my 1992 and 1998 Lexus 300's had leather seats that wore out really bad in the driver's seat. I am only 6', 212 Lbs. and found the leather seats in the Lexus did not wear well.

My 1998 Dodge Durango and 1988 Lincoln Town car had the best leather seats, showing very little wear. I just find leather or synthetic vinyl easier to keep clean.

I know what you mean about the pleather/vinyl seeming to be fine, my wife’s PHEV Escape has most arguably the best of that kind of material. Had they used this material on the Lariat, I’d have went for that trim level rather than the XLT with Lux pkg.
I figured I could use the saved money to get the leather seats material I can install myself. I’m viewing it as a $1,300 gift for my Maverick. Hehe

Absolutely, if you can save money by installing the leather seats yourself that is the way to go. Hope you have great success with the installation and many years of comfort.

Didn't he drive 80k without changing the trans fluid at all when he should have been changing it every 30k or so per the owners manuals recommendations on maintenance for heavy duty use? The 8 speed isn't as solid as the e-cvt, but I'm confident if he had changed the fluid when he was meant to, he wouldn't have had issues.

If Ford's seats are like Toyota's, they should be fine. The 2013 RAV4 Limited I had, had these soft tex seats, still looked good and felt fine with 100k miles on it at 9 years old when I traded it for the Maverick. As with anything user weight, the local environment (temperatures), where you park, and other variables will effect longevity of the seats.

Cloth is my preference though, and I have that in my Mav and my last car.

Yup, he drove it until it broke. :ROFLMAO: Kind of goes with my line of thinking with vehicles, people who abuse them tend to end up with junkers, but people who don't, more often than not don't.

How are everyone's seats holding up? Any real wear, rips or easy staining? Just curious as to the durability of them. Just something that popped into my head since people talking about the plastic interior scratching. I plan to get covers just curious.
I dropped a Hot Dog with mustard and onions on my passenger seat it cleaned up good with just water, that's all I had was a hour from home, it kind of rolled out of the bun on the seat off the paper plate. you can still see a very small spot, I thought it was all over for that blue cloth. Driver seat looks great and very comfy it been a year and half. The heated seats and steering wheel work great use them every day almost, especially if you have a bad back.

I am only four months and 3,157 miles in. But my Lariat seats look new. The "leather" used in the Lariat looks and feels better than the black vinyl Ford calls "Active-X leather" in other models, include the much more expensive Explorer in my driveway.
I have good news for you it is Active X its basically plastic, should hold up better than leather. From what I was told all the plastics like the dash and trim panels, sills etc. is all recycled materials.

Love the cloth seats in the Maverick. They are comfortable and durable. My first Maverick (1973) had hard vinyl seats that burned your legs in the summer and froze your ass in the winter. They cleaned up easy but they were terrible.

Glad to see both types are doing well. I've seen some vehicles deteriorate quickly. Most of the time it's the driver side seat from people sliding out without lifting at all.

I was thinking about this very thing the other day! Went on autotrader and filtered by highest mileage and zoomed in on the seat pics whenever I found an XL listed with good pictures. They all looked pretty dang good! Some had about 80k miles already.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've seen seats that have deteriorated quickly before. A lot of the time it's the driver side where people slide in and out. It's nice to see these holding up!

My xlt seats are starting to show signs of softness and discoloration 9 months in, but I've been putting on ā‰ˆ1k mi/week with plenty of idle butt time on top of it. Dirty work clothes don't help either.
