Given today's costs on everything from eggs to trucks I would say my Maverick has exceeded my expectations going in. I would say my experience has been exceptional.

I thought it meant the unibody is strong and not flexing.

I had to use Google for a definition of this phrase.
No worries, I'm sure my 16 year old grandson would tell me that is something they said back in "ancient times" - last month.

It seems all car manufacturers are having a lot of recalls. Some of these are complete engine replacements. My personal thoughts are that a couple of items are causing this. These are just my opinions.
1. When you put out bids to outside vendors and go with the least expensive, it is highly likely that you will get lower quality and items that have probably not went through enough testing.
2. Everything is tested with computer models. I don't think they do as much rigorous, real life testing on cars today.

I have three recalls..
But, I take care of them...

Recall #1. I check for it, everytime I leave my garage..
Recall #2. is to "notify me" of Recall #1.
and Recall #3, I have fixed... I just use my "Analog Cameras"..

See, No problem... 😍

I guess I am old as I don't get it. What does ain't no flex mean?
I am afraid that Proper English was dropped from modern schools, about the same time.
That Cursive writing was dropped as well... :(

Edit: I corrected this post... Because of my Improper English... :ROFLMAO: 🤪

Obviously the OP isn't old enough to remember the vast number of cars sold in the '70s and '80s that were of very poor quality. Many of those vehicles, even some of the high-end models, were laughable in regards to quality and having one be a reliable and usable vehicle after limping up to 75,000 miles and you see very few of them around today. Today's vehicles are so much more sophisticated and complicated it's rather unrealistic to expect perfection. If you think about it every time Apple and Microsoft send out an update to iOS, MacOS, or Windows it's to fix a problem that has cropped up. It's a good thing I'm retired because I'm not sure my boss would understand if I called it to say I had to take a "personal day" to recover after the screen of my backup camera froze up. (It hasn't yet and I doubt it ever will.)
I wish something like this popped up every time people start the B&M routine about modern cars. My father's 67' Mustang that got as a HS graduation present, that was properly maintained and cared for throughout college was completely done with less than 50K miles. Motor drinking oil, gearbox sloppy, clutch gone, interior falling apart (as he described it). The car I had at his age was an 89' Accord that had 230K miles that I drove until almost 300K miles.

Most cars are somewhere in between. I would be happy to get 10 years / 120K miles out of this one without major problems, doing the proper maintenance, and still have something to sell in 2034, if Skynet hasn't taken over by then.

Looking at the recall list on the Ford Maverick I count at least 6 and there maybe more. They've been fined $165M by the NHTSA for the delay in recognizing the rear view camera problem and 9 months after knowing about the problem, they still don't have a fix. Maybe there's something wrong with their QMS. Maybe IATF 16949 Quality Certification is just window dressing; because, if it really was a Quality Management System, Ford wouldn't be the world leader in recalls. Maybe it's time they remember the lessons taught by W. Edwards Deming back in the 1980s and back at a time when their slogan was Quality is Job One; then, just maybe they could make a car that wasn't destine for a recall.
So what do you think about Kansas City Referees? :inspect:
