We’re in Ft Lauderdale, Broward county. Expecting some wind and rain here, but not much more (hopefully!)
I lived there (just outside in Plantation) for a year and a half and that's how it always went. We'd get all prepared and just wind and rain.

Ya, but how well does the flattest state deal with 16" of rain in one day???

Fine in my neighborhood (probably more like 10 inches of rain here), but there's lots of localized flooding in the area.

Shiiit. How does anyone deal with that. Especially the second time around. It must be a humid mess.
You prepare. Make your house tough, pick the (somewhat) higher ground, keep non perishables in stock and be ready. Yeah, not always easy but you'll get used to it.
Betcha there's a bunch of people reconsidering Florida. I'd still like to go to the Keys this winter. Who's up for a road trip?

Same here. Loaded up the Terrain Tremor with 3 adults, 2 70-lb dogs, some spare gasoline, and supplies at 8pm last night out of Tampa (Plant City). Arrived in the north Georgia mountains at 5am this morning. Surprisingly clear I-75 northbound with the exception of the Valdosta area.

Truck did great with the exception of my heater/ac control panel and fan wigging out half way up. Fan seemed uncontrollable....not sure why that, of all things decided to misbehave...

Exceptional packing job.
Thanks, hmather. While the Maverick's capacity is decent, it's a bit shy of what I was used to with my F-150s. Strategic packing is required.

I need to drive down to FL (St Pete area) to meet up with my insurance people to take care of my flooded out Ford Taurus. I heard the gas situation in the St Pete area was kind of scarce....has it gotten any better now?

It’s like packing a suitcase!

Can you imaging the mess at charging stations for Teslas and other EVs trying to evacuate? The stop and go traffic would have eaten their batteries up in no time in stop and go as they don't recharge through braking. They'd be stacked up like dominos waiting for the limited charging pods. The Maverick would just keep charging and charging every time the brakes were applied.
If only you could charge a Tesla from a Maverick

Okay, progress report. How's it going down there?
Thanks for asking. We were very fortunate in that we ended up with 8 inches of water in the garage, but nothing in the house. So many people lost so much more.

The one silver lining is that people down here really come together after a tragedy. The amount of neighbors helping neighbors – and strangers helping strangers – is amazing.
