Ford knows the original axles are so bad they redesigned the entire (critical) part. There absolutely should be a goodwill program that anyone who has the original axles fail will receive a new redesigned set free of charge.

I’m a recent 2024 hybrid buyer, new truck. Reading this stuff is concerning, but if you’re at 70,000 miles with a $1,000 repair for a relatively inexpensive truck rendering 38-41 mpg — what I’m getting — how bad is that? My Frontier got 18-19, and had a few issues…

So are the designed axles on the MY25 Mavericks?

Yes, the MY25 is the beefed up CVs, but it is a TBD with the test of time and use if that fully addressed the issue. It appears everyone assumed when they replaced the previous CVs that would address the problem, but it appears it comes back.

What ever you decide, I wish you the best. Sounds like your dealership didn't do their homework and read up about the newer replacement CV axles. So now you are stuck with a problem you shouldn't have. You know your situation better than us, so moving forward, whatever is economically best for you, I would do it and move on. Been there, done that.

I will add this, I did some things while still having anger in my head that when I look back, the better solution was there but I was too blinded by my anger to see it.

Step back, write down as many solutions to your situation, find the best option after asking your trusted circle of friends and do the right thing. Pride is what often gets us angry. The Maverick and your dealership put a dent in your emotional pride.............you'll get through this.

Hi I'm in Michigan, I have a 22 hybrid @ 48k. I live on a gravel road with the nasty potholes at times and all the smut that comes along with it. At this time I have no trouble 🤞 my fingers.

When it happens to the same person twice and not at all to most..... it might be coincidence..... or it might be the driver & his driving conditions.

Just relaying my experience with Ford. Of course I'm a little salty because they fixed them once and replaced them with flawed parts again and now won't do anything about it. I suggested they just send me the parts and I would pay for labor and still nothing
You have a right to feel salty.
I felt the same way when mine started to go bad.

I am only responding now because of @CurtisB post.
Instead of saying "I'll never buy another Ford again" ,
I reaffirmed my commitment to keeping this little truck for as long as possible.
That was _always_ the plan. I'm okay with ~$300 in parts each year or two.

I hope to never buy another vehicle (any make) as it seems it will just be
another set of issues at a higher cost.

I'll end with a reminder that the new part numbers just started showing up this year (2025).
So the dealership you used may not have been able to order the newest part at the time
of your service needs.

Whatever decision you make ... just try to do it without emotion ... with a clear head as Curtis B mentioned. Only you can make that decision ...by you, for you.

Good luck!

I had my 2022 half axles replaced under warranty and now at 65 k they are bad again. Ford replaced my bad half axles with the same bad part a now they don't want anything to do with me. I love my truck but Ford won't back it's product even when they know it's badly engineered. I should have got a Tocoma I'll never buy a Ford again.
easy does it , CroMag ,my left front is also sour again at 60K miles , but im still happy with it overall , my XL was about $27000 out the door & im spending 1/2 on gas as my ‘07 Ranger

It’s well documented the original axle was significantly shorter than the ecoboost and/or tremor.

The new CV axles are longer for the hybrid.

Call your dealer and get the email address and phone number for their ford rep. Calmly but firmly explain to him the situation and your dissatisfaction and how the original axle issues are a known problem. Which he will already know about. They have a lot more leeway.

I guess I don't get how that works geometrically speaking. You can replace a CV axel with a slightly longer one?

Im not sure anyone thought that replacing the bad parts with the same parts would fix the issue long term.
