Locked key in Mav

Left my key in the cubby and it locked itself. Or, maybe I did it.(XLT) I called the cops and it took him 5 minutes to unlock the door with a rod. Pretty easy. Too easy?
So, know a locked door is a small impediment.

That's interesting. Yesterday, at a store, I did my usual hit the lock button on my way out the door and then closed it. Mav double honked to let me know the key was still in the truck. It'd fallen out of my sweats pocket...
This is the way my last 4 Fords have acted so I'm at a loss how people can accidentally lock their fob in. Or is this a physical old school key with no fob?

I got my 24 in February (eb lariat 5500 miles) accidentally locked key in. Fortunately window was part way open. Locked in again another time, also had window slightly down. Then 2 days ago did again.... this time it beeped and wouldn't lock.

Mine regularly locks drivers door. Very annoying

Yes, it can happen! I work for home health and on a visit I knocked over person's trash can at the road. Parked to just jump out and set it right and realized my key AND my phone were in the now-unintentionally-locked truck. I don't know how police do it, but I called a locksmith (from someone else's phone of course) who opened it in no time. I was able to get that cost refunded by my car insurance. Moral of the story: ALWAYS have your phone or key with you, preferrably both!

I need to on maverick, on my 350 I have a hidden key. Unlocked door only. Will not start vehicle.

That’s strange, on mine if I leave the fob in truck open door to get out press the lock button on door, close door it double honks the horn and does not lock, same on all the other late model fords I’ve owned

I know. My 350 does that. My wife's kona does something similar. Thought strange that it let me lock key in.

I have both things happen. Left the key in the cubby and got the double honk with no lock. And had the driver’s door lock for no explainable reason but the other three doors didn’t lock. Good advice to check the other doors before calling in the reserves.

Excellent question a couple weeks ago at the store I locked my keys in the car and when I went out and tried the Driver’s door sure enough it was locked, and I could see my key fob in the car. I thought I was totally screwed because my phone was in the car too so I couldn’t use Ford pass, but I just happen to try the other side of the car and those doors were not locked, so I’m wondering if it somehow is designed that way. Anyway, I learned to always at least be sure I have my phone with me. Lol

I thought I was totally screwed because my phone was in the car too so I couldn’t use Ford pass, but I just happen to try the other side of the car and those doors were not locked, so I’m wondering if it somehow is designed that way. Now that I think about it I probably could have. I never have used that app but now I'm gonna work on it.
